Last month, That Hashtag Show got word that Lionsgate was hoping to nab Halle Berry (Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Catwoman, Monster's Ball) as the new female lead for the third John Wick movie, and now THR has confirmed that the Academy Award-winner has signed on.

Though there are currently no details on the character Berry will play, she's not expected to be a villain. However, THS's previous report revealed that whoever she's playing is being referred to as “SOFIA”, and she's described as being "20-40, who has a small child."

John Wick: Chapter 3 will see Keanu Reeves' eponymous assassin pursued by a group of the world's most deadly killers after he takes out a member of the shadowy international assassin’s guild, the High Table.

Chad Stahelski will direct the threequel, which is set to fire into theaters on May 17, 2019.

UPDATE: THR is reporting that Orange Is the New Black’s Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, The Raid's Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman, and none other than the legendary Angelica Huston have also joined the cast.

It's a date. 5.17.19
