JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 Sets Its Sights On A Prime Summer 2021 Release Date

Hot on the heels of its franchise-best opening weekend, Lionsgate has officially set a release date for John Wick: Chapter 4, which will undoubtedly see Keanu Reeves' return as the titular assassin.

Yeah, we're thinking he's back.

In a text message sent out to fans earlier this evening, Lionsgate officially announced the release date for a fourth chapter in Keanu Reeves' John Wick saga. "You have served. You will be of service. John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming - May 21, 2021."

Considering the fact that Chad Stahelski's critically-acclaimed John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum opened to a franchise-best $93.3 million worldwide ($56.8M domestic; $36.4M foreign), it's no surprise the studio wanted to quickly set a release date for the highly anticipated follow-up, which will presumably see the titular assassin and the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) team-up to take down the High Table.

Looking ahead at the Summer 2021 release calendar, movie fans can expect another extremely eventful summer as studios gear up for the debuts of a number of big-budget blockbusters.
  • Universal's Fast and Furious 10 (April 2)
  • Warner Bros.' Tom and Jerry (April 16)
  • Untitled Marvel Studios Film (May 7)
  • Warner Bros.' DC Super Pets (May 21)
  • Untitled live-action Disney film (May 28)
  • Universal's Jurassic World 3 (June 11)
  • Untitled Pixar Film (June 18)
  • Warner Bros.' The Batman (June 25)
  • Universal's Sing 2 (July 2)
  • Disney's Indiana Jones 5 (July 9)
  • Warner Bros.' Space Jam 2 (July 16)

Why did you have to spoil the end of John Wick 3? It's quite the twist for people who haven't seen the movie yet.

@Ayush - To be fair, the most interesting part of that ending isn't that there would be a sequel, but rather WHY there will be a sequel. Divulging that would definitely be a spoiler.

Ha. I read that list of releases and thought “what they postponed the next Fast and Furious movie!?” And then realized it said ten not nine and they weren’t releasing in back to back years.

With how the last one ended I can't wait to see the team up that John Wick is going to have with spoiler.

I also hope the next one brings in more dogs, because seeing the dogs fighting in JW3 was great. So getting to see more dog fights is always welcome.

The High Table need to be brought down from their ivory tower. They think they are untouchable. Like a wise man once said "If it bleeds, we can kill it"

Why he never kills The Adjudicator or the guy in the desert I dunno. John Wick already said screw the rules in the last movie.

@SecretAgent008 - the first would legit have zero effect on his predicament.

The second is easy: atonement. I watched the first two again recently and it feels very much like he is just trying to get out. At no point is Wick NOT reluctant. He just wants to be left alone in a world constantly trying to screw him into being the Boogeyman.

More crazy John Wick action scenes? Count me in! Also, looking at that summer 2021 lineup, can we just skip 2020? I'm not looking forward to much next year. 2021 looks great again, John Wick, Mission: Impossible, Fast amd Furious, Batman and probably some interesting Marvel movies (2020 movie was Black Widow right? Don't care much about that)

I actually think this has shared universe potential. Anyway, more John Wick is always a good thing
