Yeah, I'm thinking he's back!

Following that twenty-four hour countdown clock, Lionsgate has finally launched the official theatrical trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4, finally giving us an extended preview of the return of Baba Yaga (Keanu Reeves) as he takes on the High Table, with the hope that he'll finally earn what he's so desperately been seeking: freedom.

However, getting out of the game is going to be a lot easier said than done as he squares off against some of the most deadly assassins in the game - including Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryxXx: The Return of Xander Cage), Bill Skarsgård (ItDeadpool 2), and Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last SamuraiThe Wolverine) - so, it's safe to say, he'll have his work cut out for him.

Plot details remain locked away in the deepest corners of The Continental, but the synopsis reads, "John Wick uncovers a path to defeating the High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes."

Reeves will be joined by an all-new supporting cast consisting of Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars StoryxXx: The Return of Xander Cage), newcomer Rina Sawayama as Akira, Shamier Anderson (Wynonna EarpGoliath), Bill Skarsgård (ItDeadpool 2), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last SamuraiThe Wolverine), Scott Adkins (X-Men Origins: WolverineDoctor Strange), Marko Zaror (Alita: Battle AngelSultan), and Clancy Brown (Thor: RagnarokDaredevil).

Additionally, Laurence Fishburne (The Bowery King), Ian McShane (Winston), and Lance Reddick (Charon) will all reprise their roles for the next installment.

Chad Stahelski is back in the director's chair, this time utilizing a screenplay from Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Stahelski co-directed the first installment with David Leitch, but was the sole director on both Chapter 2 and Chapter 3.

Check out the official trailer below:

As a lover of the John Wick movies, I was quite underwhelmed with that trailer. It doesn't look bad, but just not as exciting as I would have imagined it to be. Didn't seem to up the ante from the last one like every sequel has done so far.

Only a trailer though. Keanu's always great and Donnie Yen playing another blind master? I'm pretty sure I'll be entertained nonetheless.

@UniqNo - I think it looks epic. Even a bit more dialed back from how big the 3rd movie was, scale-wise.

@MosquitoFarmer - Maybe dialed back is right.

I feel every sequel had it's 'nuts' moment. in 2 was the fight at the rave and catacombs and then mirror room, in 3 was him on horseback and motorbike cutting and shooting up folks in the city.

There didn't seem to be one like that for me judging from the trailer for 4. Him riding through the desert all suited up was cool though, but didn't seem 'new'.

I'm probably wrong as it's just a trailer, but it didn't excite me as much as I'd have expected.

So no subtitle then?

@MasterMix - wish they kept it. I liked that early title. Without the chapter part.

But I think how they attached it to chapter 3, they realized it was a little too wordy. Guess they’re sticking to the chapter route.

Looks great, rewatched all 3 recently with my eldest. Definitely the best modern action series.

Also glad to see Donnie Yen, definitely the bona fide action Star that makes this even better

Flashpoint is still his best movie for me

Man, the aesthetic of these films gets more potent each entry. Looks like a live-action anime at this point

@Cap1 - it reminds me of Gangsta

@GhostDog - despite my anime ref i’m not very schooled in it, my main point of reference is Afro Samurai lol. Is Gangsta good?

@Cap1 - Gangsta is great. Sadly shortlived, only 12 episodes. The studio went bankrupt after. But its a breeze to binge through. Stroy ends unfinished though.

@GhostDog - I was going to watch Gangsta on Hulu but it was subtitled and everybody knows I’m an uncultured swine so I didn’t watch it. Don’t judge me. Lol

I mean, no one really plans to die. It just happens to people.

Except me. I have plans. Elaborate plans, and not to give away too much but it involves uncooked popcorn kernels, large quantities of baked beans, tenth of a pound of C4, a mariachi band playing a cover of Yakety Sax and a luxury hotel.

@Reeds2Much - You can’t say that no one plans to die, and then say that you have plans to die. But who am I to say? Sounds like a blast, on your part.

@Reeds2Much - Huh, well that's funny. Mine's pretty close, except in mine the popcorn is actually popped and burnt (for the smell), the beans are pinto, instead of C4 it's a bathtub full of M80s, and oddly enough it's still a mariachi band, but instead they're playing "Yackety Yak (Don't Talk Back)". And instead of a luxury hotel, it's whatever hotel Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo stayed at in "Fear and Loathing". And I'll need someone to throw the radio into the tub with me when "Yackety Yak" peaks. And if that doesn't happened after like the 4th or 5th time through I'm just going to give up and go to work. Pretty much the same result anyway.

@Reeds2Much - #1. Dr. Kavorkian made a business out of “planning”.
#2. And that sounds EPIC!

Looks pretty good, hyped for it. Visually from this trailer it looks better than the 3rd film. Hopefully this film is more like the first two.

They consistently got better. That's rare these days. I hope 4 does it too.

God damn do i friggen love this franchise. This series has to be the 2nd best action series going ONLY behind the crazy man himself, Maverick, and his MI movies. I'll watch John Wick movies as long as they keep pumping them out. Soooo entertaining. Long Live Wick

Loved the first two, the third one however had almost zero story to it and got so bored watching it. This one definitely looks to be in the same mould as the previous one so I’ll probably give it a miss.

If this is truly the downfall of the Continental, I would love to see John Wick Chapter 5 tackle rogue assassins now on the run and being hunted by relatives of some of their targets. It could make for a great HBO Max series without John. Just each episode acting as an anthology following various assassins on the run. And maybe have John cameo coming for some of them as well.
