SDCC '14: 4 New MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Posters & Footage Description

The Warner Bros.' San Diego Comic-Con panel was mostly dominated by Peter Jackson's The Hobbit franchise, but George Miller found some time to drop by and share the first trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road.

Movie Web have a detailed description of the Mad Max: Fury Road footage that was shown today at San Diego Comic-Con for Warner Bros..
The scene begins with Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) standing next to his car, as a bizarre lizard with two heads runs away. We hear Max say in a voiceover, "My name is Max. My world is fire and blood." The footage continues with a montage of several different cars and motorcycles in this post-apocalyptic wasteland as a chase sequence ensues through a series of tornadoes.

Nicholas Hoult's Nux is driving through one of the tornadoes, while a number of other vehicles give chase as bodies go flying through the air, tagline pops up, reading, "The world belongs to the Mad," as the footage comes to a close.

George Miller went on to reveal that, while Max just wants to be left alone in peace, he gets involved with Charlize Theron's Furiosa, the leader of a war rig traveling through the wasteland. The director also revealed that this movie is closer in tone to Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, but he wouldn't confirm where exactly Mad Max: Fury Road is set, in regards to the franchise timeline.

“MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is the fourth film of George Miller‘s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And… Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.”

Wow. I didn't even realize Hoult was in the film! The descriptions sound great, everything from the trailer to the Road Warrior comparison.

WB panel is about to end btw; on the last question for the cast. 5 min left!

From what I've heard it sounds like it's an R-rated movie. Good. No need for Beyond Thunderdome bullshit.

It's nice to see that they are going back to the second movie for so much but I really think they shouldn't go so overboard with some of the designs the Toecutter looks like a freakefied version of Bane
