The "Ant-Man Legacy" retrospective teaser was released during Marvel Studios' CCXP Brazil panel last night, but two scenes from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qauntumania were also screened for those in attendance, and descriptions of both have now been shared online (via The Direct).
Paul Rudd introduced the threequel's opening sequence, which sees Scott Lang enjoying his celebrity lifestyle following the events of Avengers: Endgame. He is still in a relationship with Hope van Dyne, who has become a philanthropist and has won awards for using Pym Particles to solve housing and food problems.
The clip concludes with Scott reading an excerpt from his book at a library when he gets a call from San Fransisco Penitentiary (it seems Cassie has inherited her father's knack for getting in trouble with the law).
The second scene is an extended version of the moment teased in the trailer, as Ant-Man encounters Kang in the Quantum Realm for the first time. The villain offers to help rescue Cassie (it's not clear who is holding her captive) if Scott aids him in stealing an artifact that will allow him to escape the Realm.
We assume Lang refuses, because we then see Kang put his foot on the hero's head, kicking his helmet away and damaging it in the process.
While these scenes are unlikely to be officially released in their entirely, there's a good chance we will see more from each of them in the next trailer.
In Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang. Peyton Reed returns to direct the film; Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard produce.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on February 17, 2023.
