As is often the case with movie tie-in merchandise, some recent Avengers: Endgame promo art and action figure images appear to have revealed a few things about the Marvel Studios sequel that haven't yet been officially confirmed, and now we can add another returning character (well, characters) to that list of spoilers.

With his Outrider army decimated in Infinity War, there's been a lot of speculation that Thanos might enlist The Chitauri to finish what they started in the first Avengers movie, and this prototype figure certainly looks like a Chitauri soldier!

Without a head it's obviously impossible to be certain, but the coloring, armor design and those extra thumbs are a bit of a giveaway.

Of course, we know that Cap, Thor and co. will return to the Battle of New York at some point, so the ferocious alien warriors may only appear in those scenes.

What do you guys think about the prospect of The Chitauri returning to do battle with Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Does it make the most sense, or would you prefer a new threat? Drop us a comment down below.

Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers -- Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner -- must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos -- the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters everywhere on April 26.

@knocturnalzen10 - I was going to comment that on any shazam thread. The last clip I saw looked Bawse.

It didn't look so cheesy and made me even more excited to see it.

I thought the Outriders were far more formidable, at least as physical combatants.
