Mark Ruffalo Is Hoping For A Psych Battle Between The Hulk & Bruce Banner In AVENGERS 4

Due to the fact that Marvel doesn't have have any more Hulk movies planned, the Green Goliath has to finish up his storyline in the fourth Avengers film.

In Avengers: Infinity War, the Hulk briefly appeared and was quickly decimated by a power stone wielding Thanos. As a result, the "strongest there is" refused to show his face for the rest of the film. Mark Ruffalo (via the The Marvelists podcast) spoke on the decisions that were made and revealed that he and the directors actually went back and forth, deciding how to end the film with Banner and the Hulk.

"We went back and forth a lot on how to end the movie with Banner, and do we repeat the Hulk coming at the last minute or do we try something new? And I think at that point we were all thirsting to have Banner be his own hero for once."

After reiterating that the Hulk/Banner conflict has been brewing since Avengers: Age of Ultron and took a significant step in Thor: Ragnarok, the 50-year old actor expressed what he'd think would be the "ultimate" ending for the two characters.

"I want to see this conflict carried out and see where that takes us and see, can they come to terms with it? Do they get a moment? I always thought it would be great to see them in some sort of subspace where they get to battle it out with Banner’s brains as some sort of his own superpower, like psych weaponry or psi weaponry against Hulk’s brute strength and have these two characters battle it out. I always thought that would be the ultimate comic book ending or something, opening to these characters."

Seeing the Hulk and Banner battle it out in some shape or form would certainly be intriguing for most moviegoers. When the dust settles though, there is a good chance that Banner and the Hulk will be split into two separate beings at the end of their chapter. Nevertheless, we never know what twist and turns the Russo brothers will throw at us before we get there.

Avengers 4 is a little less than eight months away. How would you like to see them put a lid on Banner and the Hulk's story? Share your thoughts below.

The Hulk should of shown his face in the Battle Of Wakanda, when you've got the likes of Black Widow taking on members of The Black Order throughout the movie,The Hulk should of came out to take on Black Dwarf.

This is the kind of thing I’d love to see with his character. They are starting to play with the dynamic between the two. Now they just need to keep working with it. I want to see Banner and Hulk interact. If they fight it’s just a bonus.

I hope they have some type of dream sequence where Bruce and Hulk argue. And at some point, they merge into one, resulting into Professor Hulk. I have some other theories, but I don't wanna get carried away again.

@KWilly - maybe that happens when Banner uses B.A.R.F.
Whose memories would it be, Banner's or Hulk's?

Hulk is ruined. He's not a superhero, he's a selfish asshole who willingly let trillions of innocent people die.

I think the better way is to have Bruce figure out a way to obliterate The Leader.

Hulk sees how Bruce uses his brains when Hulk can't punch his way out of a situation.

Box office PLATINUM.

The general public LOVES the Hulk. Maybe a stand alone movie with The Hulk, The Leader, and.....MAYBE.....She-Hulk?????

I’m hoping for Smart Hulk even if it’s only temporary.
