AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Now Projected To Beat STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS' Opening Weekend Record

We've heard that Avengers: Infinity War is on track to have a massive opening weekend but it's now projected that the Marvel movie will beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens by a pretty decent amount...

Tracking for Avengers: Infinity War is expected to surface within the next week or so but with Marvel's latest movie outselling all previous releases and the buzz around the massive ensemble at an all-time high, you'd best believe it's going to be a record breaker! Today, Box Office Pro is projecting a North American debut of $235 million - $255 million for the upcoming Russo Brothers helmed release.

Should the movie land on the higher end of that scale, it will beat the all-time record set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2015. That opened with a whopping $247.9 million and set the benchmark for just how high a blockbuster is able to go with the right amount of hype. Avengers: Infinity War is a movie ten years in the making combining heroes from The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The site also believes that the massive movie's total domestic haul will be $565 million - $650 million, an impressive amount which would actually leave it behind the immensely successful Black Panther (a sign perhaps that Avengers: Infinity War will be
quite top heavy in terms of earnings, especially with Deadpool 2 and Solo: A Star Wars Story following so soon after). How much do you see it making?

Deservedly so, no Mary Sue's, illogical continuations or blatantly rehashed plot points here.

@Chaos200 - that’s... sarcasm right?

This is a cbm. Mary Sues, rehashed plots, and illogical continuations are what this genre is famous for.

@Chaos200 - Did you already see the movie and know that none of this is happening?

@Origame - I'm going based on my trust of Marvel, Feige and the Russo's.

@Chaos200 - Really? Because a) Mary Sue (or Gary Stu for the men) is a pretty accurate description for superheroes in general, b) They've already done several rehashed plot points with Ant Man being Iron Man and Ragnarok being the original Thor, and c) Homecoming brought up the question of what's even going on with this continuity.
