Here's Dave Bautista's Thoughts On An AVENGERS/GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Crossover

With a cosmic-level threat like Thanos looming larger than life and preparing to make a grand assault in Avengers: Infinity War, will the Guardians of the Galaxy be traveling to Earth to join forces with Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Or perhaps The Avengers head into space?

Will The Avengers' fight with Thanos take place on Earth or will they be traveling into space to take the fight to the Mad Titan's door step? Iron Man's vision in Age of Ultron would have us believe that the battle will actually take place on the Moon (?).  Whether or not, the Scarlett Witch-induced glimpse of the future ever comes to pass won't be confirmed until Avengers: Infinity War kicks off Part One on May 02, 2018.  How the Guardians of the Galaxy will factor into the climactic showdown remains to be seen. Previous comments from director and screenwriter James Gunn implies that he may be a bit hesitant to merge franchises.  However, Drax actor Dave Bautista has no such misgivings.  "[Laughter] Yeah, come on, man. Hell yeah. Yeah, of course I would. At the core of me is the biggest geek you’ve ever met. I’m a superhero fan first and foremost, and…of course, man, I want that to happen.  It’s rumors right now, but, you know, I pray every day…and night, and afternoon, and after you walk out the door I’ll go pray and say, “Please let Drax be in ‘The Avengers.’ ” [Laughter] Yeah, I hope it’ll happen."

Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2
hits theaters on  May 5, 2017.  The film will star Bautista, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper and  Zoë Saldana.

Love this guys enthusiasm. I think it's inevitable that both teams will fight Thanos in IF.

If it doesn't happen, Marvel will have missed a GIANT opportunity for their Universe-Wide Infinity War event.

James Gunn can be against it all he wants but we all know GOTG WILL BE in IW.
Feige got dat azz on lockdown.

So Bautista's kind of on the fence about it, then... ;)

Seems like a no-brainer for Feige to include GOTG in Infinity Wars. James Gunn can show all the hesitancy he wants - God bless him, he loves his Guardians! - but if Feige wants 'em, Gunn won't have much say in that decision.

That wasn't on the moon. In the end of the scene you can see there's a portal to Earth.

It could be anywhere. To me it looked like Thanos' asteroid or whatever that place is.

@Superherodude1

If we were just talking money, you're absolutely right. There is no marketing reason.

But from a world-building, story, fan perspective, it's just too juicy an opportunity to pass up.

I'm not saying the Guardians have to be prominent in either movie, but an appearance by Starlord or Rocket would be (or could be) so great.

They'll be there. Just make sure the Defenders are prominently used as well.

Since James Gunn wants Quill to be the only Terran in GotG2, Stark will meet/recruit the GotG at some point during Infinity War part 1, right???

I dont think they will crossover. I think they will be fighting Thanos from different sides of the galaxy. While the Avengers are on the Moon and Earth fighting off the forces of Thanos, GOTG will be somewhere else still fighting Thanos' other forces.

Yeah If Marvel don't do that, it doesn't make any sense. If GotG failed, maybe but it was success, hope the Vol 2 will be too, and the cross-over for Infinity War is nearly inevitable.

Marvel branding had little to nothing to do with GotG's success. Otherwise why didn't Ant-Man make just as much money?

GOTG has turned Dave "Batista" Bautista into the next Dwayne "The Rock' Johnson.

I see the Guardians showing up at the very end of IW 1.They should really build a little tension between the two teams.Nothing much.More like a competition as who's better than the other.

The Avengers will be meeting the Guardians. Whether it's all members or just Quill and Cap, Iron Man and Rocket...it's going to happen.

WITH THE WHOLE "IT'S ALL CONNECTED" THING MARVEL HAS GOING, IT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO HAVE THEM BATTLE THANOS TOGETHER. QUESTION IS HOW DO THEY GET ALL OF THE ACTORS TOGETHER AT THE SAME TIME AND WILL THE BUDGET BE 300 MILLION.

WHEN MARVEL CASTED STARLORD FIEGE SAID THAT THEY WANTED AN ACTOR THAT COULD HOLD HIS OWN THE ROOM WITH RDJ/STARK. THAT IS WHY THEY CASTED PRATT AS STARLORD. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A SCENE WITH STARK AND ROCKET BUILDING SOMETHING BADASS TOGETHER BUT ARGUING AND FIGHTING THE WHOLE TIME.

THE FACT THAT THE FRANCHISES ARE SO CONNECTED IT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO PUT THEM TOGETHER. I THINK THAT DR STRANGE WILL BE THE MAJOR PLAYER IN BRINGING EVERYONE TOGETHER TO BATTLE THANOS JUST LIKE THEY DID IN THE INFINTY GAUNTLET COMICS.

JAMES GUNN MADE AN AWESOME MOVIE BUT HE ACTS LIKE HE OWNS THE FRANCHISE AND THAT ANOYS ME !!!
