If you stuck around until the end of Iron Man back in 2008, you would have been treated to a very cool scene featuring Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury telling Tony Stark about the "Avengers Initiative." It was that which not only helped give birth to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it but also laid the groundwork for Earth's Mightiest Heroes to finally assemble on the big screen four years later.

While it may not be the flashiest stinger Marvel has delivered, it's still actually Kevin Feige's favourite!

"I love them all for so many different reasons. The Nick Fury one obviously, because it was the first. Two things that have happened as we have continued making our MCU movies is, I remember Stan Lee cameos, there would be a couple of people in the
theater who would clap, and then there would be a couple more, and now every single person in the theater knows Stan and recognizes Stan."

There's no denying that Marvel Studios has changed the game when it comes to after-credits scenes as rival studios have scrambled to keep up and often failed to capture the same sort of magic. Feige then went on to weigh in on the impact they've had and the way moviegoers are willing to stick around.

"It was the same thing [with credits]: Sometimes there would be three people left in the theater for a tag and now it’s like, it varies, but it could be three-quarters of a theater staying, or as people start to leave, they’ll go, ‘Where are you going?’ which I find very entertaining. So I would say the Fury one because it was our first. We planted our flag on that. And the shawarma one just because we pulled it off.  It felt so perfect." Which MCU after-credits scene is your favourite? Sound off below.

I think my favourite post-credit scene was the Infinity War one.

It was very heavy and worked due to it complimenting what preceded 15 minutes earlier...

@kylo0607 - This is very true.

It was needed due to the tones involved.

This was the first time when seeing a Marvel movie that absolutely no one left before the after-credits scene. I was surprised and very happy.

@TheUnworthyThor - same here, maybe 5-7 people left a packed house.

@TheUnworthyThor - Me too! Some people went to the exit when the credits were almost done, but they were just going to watch the scene from the exit... Smartasses :D

The first with Nick Fury will always be a favorite since it blew are collective minds. I’ve never really thought of which one was my favorite by itself though. I always package the ones from the same movie together in my mind.

The Nick Fury 1st one def gave me biggest nerdgasm; special style points to the Jotunheim Frost Beast frolicking after pigeons in a London industrial park to end Thor: The Dark World. Marvel funny books were built upon giant monsters, and the mad impetuous fools like Namor or Tyranus who could control them. If it weren't for the FF we'd all be up to our donkeys in Kaiju.

Not favourite perhaps - but had the biggest "holy sht!!!-impact":

"To challenge them, is to court death"

I like when they actually reveal something about what just happened.

So... Avengers 1 is probably my favorite. The whole reason behind the Battle of New York changes when you know Thanos is behind it.

The Infinity War one might be the best. It's the first post-credits scene that almost feels needed. Like the feeling the movie leaves you with is very different based on whether or not you stick around for that scene.

I'm not sure which one is my favorite. Probably the GotG, Vol. 2 one with Stan Lee and the Watchers.

I was lucky enough to be working in New York in 2008 when Iron Man came out. It was fantastic. I was just leaving at the end when a guy tapped me on the shoulder and said “Dude... post-credits scene!”. So i sat back down and waited. Everyone cheered when Fury said Avengers Initiative. I left a very happy nerd. Ten years later we’re here. Amazing.
