Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Reveals When Marvel's Phase 4 Slate Will Be Announced

Kevin Feige has already confirmed that Marvel Studios won't be at this year's SDCC, so when will their Phase 4 slate be revealed? It sounds like we'll be waiting a while, but you can find out more here.;;

You'd think that we could all be content with getting Avengers: Infinity War in a matter of days but many fans are understandably anxious to learn about what comes next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unfortunately, not only will we have to wait a while until learning the title of Avengers 4 but Kevin Feige has now confirmed that there's over a year to go until Marvel's Phase 4 plans become clear.

"
We won't do anything until after this time next year," the Marvel Studios boss says. "After that, I think we'll announce where we're going. But we did a very big announcement in 2014 where we announced a lot of movies, and we added a few movies to it after that announcement. But it really felt important that we deliver on that before we do a big showcase of whatever is to come."

Unfortunately, this makes sense and when Feige was asked to elaborate on why the studio is sitting out of this year's Comic-Con (an event which frequently sees them steal the show), he indicated that it could be next July when various upcoming titles and sequels are revealed by Disney and Marvel.

"That's one of the main reasons we're not going to Hall H this year," he continues, "is because
Ant-Man & the Wasp will have just been released, Infinity War will be out, Captain Marvel will have just finished filming, Spider-Man will have just started filming, and we're not gonna be making any other announcements. So we're gonna wait until Comic-Con next year." Start watching your clock now...

So in July they might reveal some of the first new movies but only after Avengers 4 we will have the whole picture with cemented dates and the everything?

Patience’s a virtue then.

Take notes DC. Don't just aimlessly announce movies. This is why marvel is king

@warmachinerocks - I try not to flame war too much - but man the business outline is just so superior. It's insane, the contrast between the two studios.

@Kman - This was always the biggest difference. The MCU had someone like Feige. Imagine how utterly amazing it would be right now if the DCEU had someone like that from the start and both universes were thriving instead of one being a complete garbage fire.

@warmachinerocks - agreed... less is definitely more in this respect

Lots more to see and eagerly wait for and getting the next phase announced could take away from what’s to come.

Yeah, I’m quite content right now😊

Marvel shouldn’t even announce films anymore.

Just make them go into production & don’t even say anything. Like the blogs & rumor mill uncover what they could be

I’m kind of enjoying how we really have no clue what MCU films are coming after next year. I like that quietness

@LEVITIKUZ - Marvel does a better job than any studio I can think of keeping shit under wraps. Especially with a movie like this coming out, it's pretty impressive.

@LEVITIKUZ - Like the Cloverfield movies then.

@LEVITIKUZ - But would you rather you heard about the new films through amazing announcements events with the film stars like in 2014 or would you rather it was just leaked by clickbaiters?

I actually prefer not knowing too much. We knew about Infinity War before Age of Ultron even came out, which meant that in a way AoU felt like a pitstop on the way to the ultimate showdown rather than a true event in its own right the way Avengers did. Knowing the slate also spoils who survives certain movies, lowering the stakes to a degree. With Infinity War and Avengers 4, there's a real feeling that almost anyone (minus Spider-man, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel) could be gone by the time the dust clears.

So if they announce by April 2019 that would be to late as that movie would be for May 1, 2020. I think they need to announce it so they can do casting, etc by November/December 2018.

Wouldn't surprise me if they won't announce a full line-up until D23 2019. The movies we're certain about are SPider-Man 2 (2019?) and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (2020?)

Is that a silhouette of Iron Man and Nova in Dr. Strange's magic trails?
