New AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Poster May Reveal The Third Infinity Stone Thanos Will Get His Hands On

The newest IMAX poster for Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War seems to give us our first look at which stone Thanos will acquire next on his mission to balance the universe. More information after the jump...

As we've seen throughout the first two Avengers: Infinity War trailers, Thanos seems to acquire his first two Infinity Stones rather quickly. It appears that first retrieves the purple Power Stone from Xandar (likely slaughtering the Nova Corps in the process), and secondly the Space Stone from the hand of the God of Mischief himself.

At this point, we have little to no idea when or how Thanos will obtain the others, but a close-up look at the new Infinity War IMAX poster may give us a clue.

There are other theories that this might be Ant-Man, but a Reddit user named Tprime117 posted a zoomed-in image of Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet in the new poster, with a circle around the knuckle of his thumb. As you can see below, it appears as though a third stone is resting in that spot as it's clearly distinct from the rest of the slots.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, from the new poster from r/marvelstudios

While the stone in the thumb isn't glowing green, it does match the placement of the Time Stone from other posters, promotional art and toys.  It would also make sense for the studio and poster artists to try and hide the color of the stone, as to not give away any of the movie's spoilers. And, as we know from multiple previous examples, the posters aren't always as air-tight as you'd think.

Both of the trailers, as well as the LEGO sets, have made clear that Thanos is aware of Dr Strange's stone. The Mad Titan sends two of his enforcers, Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian, to New York to retrieve it. This attack is what leads to characters like Tony Stark and Spider-Man to join Strange in defending the Sanctum Santorum. While that's certainly a formidable team, the newest Infinity War trailer shows that not everything went as New York's Avengers had hoped.

This image isn't confirmation that the Time Stone will be the third addition to Thanos' collection, but it does seem to make a lot of sense within the context of the story.

What do you think? Is this our first look at Thanos wielding the Time Stone?

You literally had an article up a couple of hours ago about this same exact thing, say it was antman lol MAKE UP YOUR MIND. and yes it obviously looks more like a stone than ant man. Don't know why you didn;t go with this one first.

@litobirdy - Just to let you know, we're not some kind of hive mind. I'm not Josh, we're not a singular entity.

@litobirdy - Yeah, and this topic hasn't been posted about, rather there was a frankly insane one about Ant-man. If it were the same person making the two posts then I can see where you're coming from a little more but even if that were the case, we're just reporting the news. We're not some kind of schizo flip-flopping our beliefs about what it could be.

And whose to say it can't be both. 😐

@litobirdy - Yeah. Not to mention this is some weak spoilers. Like "oh my! So now we know...THE ORDER OF 3 INFINITY STONES!" It's not like we get any idea of context as to HOW he gets them other than what we'd imagine. But just...WHEN he gets them. #juicy

@litobirdy - Oh stop complaining. As if this ruined your day or something.

It's two different articles written by two different people talking about two different theories.

Also, they are simply reporting theories floating around. I don't recall either article claiming to believe the theory they are reporting.

@Nebula - Keep on going with the good work. The Josh's article was just stupid but this was first in my mind when I saw the closeup picture of the gauntlet that it's actually the third stone.

It’s just weird that it isn’t glowing

@BloodyBed - As I said in the post, they must've dimmed it for the poster but you can still make it out. The people they've got working on the posters clearly aren't the greatest.

Not that I don't love the posters.

@Nebula - wow they really [frick]ed that winter soldier up there eh
BloodyBed
BloodyBed - 4/6/2018, 8:26 PM
@Nebula - I'm imagining a giant to-do list for this poster, and at the bottom is "finish winter soldier's arm"

but thor's scar? that's just weird.

This is surprisingly amateur. I am not going to forget about this!...

i hope

oh, but this kinda debunks my whole "I doubt they would leave the stone in as an oversight" line of thinking.

oh.

oh oversite is definitely a possibility here.

@BloodyBed - Makes you second guess the whole film, you'd think one of the biggest studios in the world would do better.

Hmm... Interesting.

Set photos have shown that Ebony Maw definitely gets the Time Stone from Strange. Maybe they just changed the placement of the stones on the Gauntlet? Kinda like how they changed the color of the stones from their colors in the comics.

Or they could just be f.ucking with us. Only 20 more days!

@JustUsLeague - This is just their random theory since everyone called bs on the Ant Man post. Like, seriously, who cares about when he gets these particular stones?
Thanoice
Thanoice - 4/7/2018, 12:31 AM
@Origame - Yea I don't think it's Ant-Man. Just a stone with no glow. I don't care when he gets them, just how lol
Origame
Origame - 4/7/2018, 3:43 AM
@JustUsLeague - I know right? Give us a spoiler like Vision dying so Thanos can get his stone or Strange being sent to Dormammu's plane so Thanos can get that stone.

@newhire13 - He should to be fair. I watched a funny video that talked about all the bureocracy the avengers would need to go through in order to do anything from the movies. Remember, 117 countries need to authorize any action they take.
