There are just hours to go until Avengers: Infinity War hits North America theaters but the movie is already out in a number of locations across the world. Now, we're well aware that #ThanosDemandsYourSilence which is why we're telling you to turn away right this second if you don't want to know about the Marvel movie's most mind-blowing surprise cameos which are listed below.

There are obviously spoilers here but we've done our best to avoid touching on major plot reveals, character deaths, and that shocking cliffhanger ending. Instead, if you're at all curious about which unexpected faces show up in Avengers: Infinity War, we've got you covered with all the juicy details.

Still here? Well, you know the drill by now. All you have to do is click on either one of the buttons below to see the list in full and then share your thoughts on these cameos in the comments section. And please, have some respect for your fellow fans by not sharing anything you read here on the site.

Red Skull

Think we're overreacting by using the words "mind-blowing" in the headline? What else would you call this?! When Thanos arrives on the planet where the Soul Stone resides, he's met by a mysterious figure in a cloak. Personally, I sat there wondering who on Earth it could be but when his face is revealed, your jaw will be left on the floor because, yes, that really is the Red freaking Skull!

As many fans have theorised, the Tesseract transported him across the universe and abandoned the one-time Captain America villain on this planet as a guardian of sorts for the Stone (which he's never been able to retrieve for reasons which you'll understand when you see the movie). It's hard to say whether or not he's played by Hugo Weaving but I think Marvel may have found a different actor.

Eitri

There's been a lot of speculation about who Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage could be playing in the movie and it turns out that those guesses about Eitri were correct. You see, Thanos forced the giant dwarf (it will make sense when you see it) to make the Infinity Gauntlet for him and then wiped out his people and cut off his hands to ensure that his weapon making days are over.

However, he still manages to help Thor create the Stormbreaker and it was definitely a lot of fun seeing Dinklage in this role even if it sometimes feels like he's trying too hard not to be like Tyrion!

The Chitauri

We thought we caught a glimpse of this lot in the trailers for Avengers: Infinity War when the young Gamora could be seen holding Thanos' hand but it turns out they're still being used by the villain in the present day. That's surprising because it was widely assumed they were all wiped out by Earth's Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers but there's clearly more where that came from!

General Ross

Heading into Avengers: Infinity War, many of us wondered how Marvel would deal with the fallout of the Sokovia Accords. Well, it turns out that they're very much still in effect as Rhodey can be seen meeting with the Secretary of State (well, a hologram at least) to discuss Iron Man's disappearance and address what they should do next. Needless to say, when Captain America turns up, he's not happy!

Despite the threat Thanos poses to the world, Ross orders War Machine to arrest the "Secret Avengers," a command the soldier quickly ignores as he braces Steve Rogers and all is forgiven.

Nick Fury And Maria Hill

When set photos from this scene surfaced online a few months back, it was widely assumed that it was for Captain Marvel. Well, as it turns out, it's actually Avengers: Infinity War's after-credits scene as the duo can be seen discussing the attack on Wakanda before they notice something strange going on.

We won't spoil what that is but it wraps up with Fury sending out a distress call to a certain someone...

Captain Marvel (Well, Sorta)

Unfortunately, Captain Marvel doesn't make a physical appearance in Avengers: Infinity War but the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director uses what looks like a souped-up pager to send a message to an unknown source. However, comic book fans won't struggle to figure out what's going on because once it's sent, a logo pops up on the tiny screen confirming that it's been received by the iconic Captain Marvel!

This perfectly sets the stage for her to take on a leading role in Avengers 4 and it will be interesting seeing how her solo movie deals with the entire situation and why Fury has only just now decided to put out a call to the cosmically powered character (and how she hasn't aged since the 1990s).

The Collector

Unless you happened to catch that leaked footage which surfaced last year, you were probably massively surprised to see the return to The Collector to the MCU. After all, it felt like his role in proceedings wrapped up nicely in Guardians of the Galaxy when his collection was destroyed but we never actually get to learn his true fate because it turns out that his appearance was a mirage.

Created by Thanos (who has got his hands on the Reality Stone by this point) to fool Gamora and the Guardians, we're left to assume that he was probably killed by the Mad Titan before their arrival on Knowhere because the entire place has been decimated by the powerful villain in short order.

Red Skull is the only one on this list that's surprising. Captain Marvel isn't even a cameo from the sounds of this article.

@GAThrawnIGF - Yeah. That was probably here just to help trick us into thinking there were more surprise reveals then there really were.

Good to see Dinklage really is playing the "Giant dwarf". That bit about his hands is ripped straight from the comics too.

I bet A4 opens up with farmer Thanos.

How are these shocking reveals?! I just finished watching the movie last night and I feel that people are trying to hype things to the max. How was the chitauri a “shocking cameo”?! They didn’t even do anything exciting. Ross did nothing either, The collector was shown in leaked footage last year. The only surprise or “shocking cameo” was Red Skull. It’s not like Adam Warlock shows up or something like that. I had Really high expectations for this movie and they weren’t met. It was a good movie but it didn’t feel like a 10 year build up and a culmination of the previous storylines etc. They rather spend time making jokes and dragging scenes to make them funny.

The "iconic" Captain Marvel.
Yeah, okay. The general audience probably won't get it.
