SPOILERS: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Directors Reveal New Details On One Of The Film's Deleted Scenes

Avengers: Infinity War is currently in theaters, and like any film, a few scenes didn't make the theatrical cut. Now, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have shed some light on one of those sequences...

Every Marvel film, and pretty much all movies, inevitably leave some scenes on the cutting room floor and Avengers: Infinity War is no exception. In fact, fans have already seen bits of some of the film’s deleted scenes through the trailers leading up to its release.

Now, while speaking with ComicBook.com, the Russo Brothers revealed and explained one of the scene’s that didn’t make the theatrical cut.

The removed scene focused on the Guardians of the Galaxy and would have followed the team during their final moments on Knowhere, after Thanos kidnapped Gamora.

“And it's at that moment in the movie where they have lost Gamora to Thanos in the Knowhere and they don't know what to do about it. They don't know where to go. They have no idea what to do. And it serves as this very absurd scene about the Guardians not knowing what to do, that's very, very funny. And even though we loved the scene, the movie just wasn't asking for it at that moment."

It sounds like this scene would have largely served as a comedic moment, and with the Russo brothers aware that they "needed to keep things pushing"  because of everything the film juggled, they ultimately removed it.

What do you folks make of this? Does it sound like something that should have stayed in the final cut of the movie, or do you think it was smart to remove it?

Probably for the best that it was cut, but will be nice to see on the Blu-ray.

@HeavyMetal4Life - I agree, maybe in the extended cut they can include this scene (and many other scenes that were cut).

@knomad - everything on this site has either been reported before, or weined from another place that I've already read it on hours and hours before

@RocknRolla - Typically Wilding locks out reports early so nobody else can report on them and then releases them all at once even though it's hours late

I hope all these deleted scenes have all the vfx complete. I know normally they dont but I don't want to see a scene with a subpar vfx Thanos lol

It doesn’t sound like time for a funny scene

@RolandD - Yeah, I think it wasn't cut just to keep up the pacing, but for also the time limit that theatres might have with it.

Maybe the extended cut could have this scene (and other deleted scenes) included for a much longer, and enjoyable viewing experience.

OK, saw the movie this weekend and was really impressed! Kept thinking the whole time I wished Disney could acquire DC films. I thought Wonder Woman was great, would give Man of Steel a C+, BvS an entertainingly D+ and Suicide Squad an F. Wonder Woman isn't enough for me to want to save the DCEU:(

@SanFranLand - Except Gunn didn't film it, the Russo's did, so it's actually very Russo, which then got cut.

@JustAChillFan - Totally. Like all things balanced...I thought Guardians Vol. 2 tipped too far into comedy. Like one of the sovereign laughing at Taserfaces name. It was kinda cringey
