Joe and Anthony Russo have currently directed a total of four Marvel films, and their latest venture, Avengers: Infinity War, was met with widespread praise and record-breaking success. And while there are certainly a number of factors that contributed to the film’ success, one element that helped was the sheer amount of crowd-pleasing moments.

These scenes, which have already become beloved moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, include everything from the film’s opening sequence to Thanos snapping his fingers in the final act. However, while we’ve heard critics and fans reveal their favorite scenes, we didn’t know what scenes the directing duo enjoyed the most.

Thankfully, in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the directors discussed this very topic.

The first to reveal their favorite was Joe Russo:

“Without giving anything away, there are a couple of hero entrances that are my favorite. I don’t want to say specifically what they are, but if you’ve seen the film, you know what I’m talking about. Those are things that again, just the child in me and the kid reading comics book, that I get excited about when I see them.”

This comment from Joe isn’t too surprising considering Captain America’s entrance at the train station to save Vision, and Thor’s arrival in Wakanda, were moments that received massive cheers in the theaters.

As for Anthony Russo, he found that his favorite scene was the same as his interviewer.

“I would probably agree with you about that Gamora moment,” Anthony said, revealing Gamora’s final moments on Vormir with the Mad Titan Thanos was his favorite. “I love her character in this film. Her relationship with Thanos is… You know, anytime you have a relationship that is between a hero and a villain where there is a personal relationship at stake, things just get so much more interesting and so much more complex.”

In all, the moments the Russos enjoyed the most aren’t all that different from the scenes that grabbed the audience’s attention.

What were your favorite moments from Infinity War? Sound off below.

I think my favorite scene is iron man/thanos. The talk before he was about to kill him was just brilliant. As well as strange/thanos talk. I loved anytime thanos got to talk and reveal his physche. I would watch a movie with just his monologue( I probably wouldn't) I hope we get more of that mad man on the Blu-ray

@MyCoolYoung - Good stuff, but the only CBM that ever had me doing that is Heath Ledger’s Joker. I could watch his scenes every day.

@RolandD - for me, thanos was more interesting than the joker. Do I think he was a better villain? I don't know. The joker was a lunatic and it was great to watch but thanos was different. He was so powerful and a monster but he always came off like a concerned father. It was weird as hell.

@MyCoolYoung - @MyCoolYoung - Don’t get me wrong; he was awesome. It’s just that Ledger’s performance was mesmerizing. His voice, expressions, tics, etc. Also, while the cgi on Thanos was great, it is still cgi, so just watching a montage of his scenes does not interest me. What I would like is to watch the entire movie about 5 more times!

@Gdub510 - it's as good or better each time. The more you see it, the subtle detailed moments really shine through! Greatest most emotional time I've ever had at a movie!🍻👍👍

@willyburz - ok so(!): At the end, after the snap and consequence, they're all trying to see wth happenEd, and theN Cap says "oh my God" and he's looking at something, the after credits has Fury and Hill talking about a ship that's entering the atmosphere and she says "another one like NY?" And Fury says "no this is 10times bigger" and immediately afterwards everyone starts getting dusted, so this ship ISNT one of the ships that Thanos's army come on bc they had a whole battle before everyone turns to dust, I think what Cap saw was whatever Fury was picking up on the scanners and I think it's a SKRULL ship. That's why he hits up Captain Marvel- because she's the conqueror of the Skrulls, otherwise he would have just hit her up hours ago when the first ship came

Favourite moments for me are definitely for one, Thor arriving in Wakanda. One of my favourite reactions was T'Challa's. He had a "So, that's him?" look on his face.

Everything else involving Thanos come second, and everything revolving around Strange come third.

@BlindWedjat - You don't see T'Challa's face though.

Those moments were great, and the last five minutes were phenomenal. From the performances to how quiet it suddenly goes to the effects of the characters fading away, it really is legit haunting.
