Avengers: Infinity War kicks off with the aftermath of Thanos' attack on Thor's ship and rather than the usual fanfare which plays over the "Marvel Studios" title card, we got to hear a radio transmission of an Asgardian pleading for mercy. However, it's now being reported that the voice may have belonged to THOR director Kenneth Branagh and when you listen to it, there's a very good chance it actually does!

Branagh is, of course, no stranger to acting as he's appeared in everything from Harry Potter to Murder on the Orient Express. This would be a very cool cameo for the man who helped start the God of Thunder's journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but we don't have official confirmation quite yet.

For those of you who need a reminder, here's the message which was transmitted during the opening:

"This is the Asgardian refugee vessel Statesman…We are under assault. I repeat, we are under assault. Engines are dead. Life support failing. Requesting aid from any vessel within range…Our crew is made up of Asgardian families, we have very few soldiers here. This is not a warcraft. I repeat, this is NOT a warcraft."

It's a very tense way to kick things off and worked really well in Avengers: Infinity War regardless of who provided the voice. It made things clear that the stakes were high in the epic ensemble and that entire opening took no prisoners. Do you guys think this could have been a cameo from Branagh?

Still blown away that they got Tobias Funke in the Collection. Finally, someone inserted him!

@Ha1frican - haha that’s cool man I had to put it at number 1 because of the way that final fight between cap, stark, and Bucky made me feel in the theatre first time I watched it, can’t explain it but I haven’t felt it in any other marvel movie

@IKidYouNotMan - Does Stormbreaker have the "worthy" enchantment? If not, couldn't anyone just pick it up?

@DaHyro - if it wasn’t shown, it’s safe to assume it’s not enchanted...yet.

I remember the time when Civil war came out and some people on this site told me there was no way another superhero movie would beat $215 million. And Superhero fatigue had set in. Today is validation for this

On my second viewing I noticed Thor spoke "Groot" as well. It was a class they taught in Asgard. Sometimes some lines in movie pass me by in the manner that's spoken(either accent or mumbling, stuff like that).
