SPOILERS: AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Will Reportedly Have An Impact On AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is far removed from the goings on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe these days but according to one of the show's stars, it will acknowledge the events of Avengers: Infinity War!

During last Friday's episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Mack made what many believed was a reference to the events of Avengers: Infinity War when he mentioned "all the weird stuff happening in New York." That's a pretty vague statement but it's now been revealed that the impact of the Marvel movie will indeed be felt moving forward; how exactly that will be acknowledged isn't clear yet, though!

For now, Agent Coulson and company remain trapped inside the Lighthouse, so they'll probably miss all those sudden disappearances unless one or two of their own vanish when Thanos decided to snap his fingers and wipe out trillions of lives. Either way, it will seemingly be acknowledged in the ABC series.

"Yeah, we do have stuff in the background periodically that references and ties into whats going on with Avengers: Infinity War," Adrian Pasdar, who plays Talbot in the show, revealed recently. "Yeah, they use that. They always tie in very well with what’s going on [in the movies]." The actor later admitted that he hasn't seen Avengers: Infinity War yet so perhaps he doesn't realise to what extent the movie is now going to have an impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward.

What do you guys think? Do you think Avengers: Infinity War will significantly change the likes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Daredevil, and Luke Cage? Be sure to let us know your thoughts down below.

All agents have to disappear, except Quake and Coulson. Also, if they renew for season 6, I want to see a chapter focused on Captain Marvel and the Kree vs Skrulls conflict.

Hopefully the Snap makes the entire show disappear, AM I RIGHT XD ?!
But in all honesty, haven't seen an episode since the pilot. Is it worth bingeing to catch up ?

@LittleSween - I would say a tempered binge is good, don't just go through the whole thing cuz it's a hell of a lot of show

I predict the season’s last episodes take place over a matter of hours, and so end before the “snapture.”

OR, we do get to see Agents vanish, but it’s only the background agents who have been popping up out of nowhere recently who are affected.

@NoAssemblyReqd - If the show continues into Season 6, it would be a spoiler for AVENGERS 4 — as we would know definitively whether Thanos’s act is fleeting or lasts a few months or a year.

They shouldn't have done this until Season 6.

They already mentioned the New York fight with Ebony Maw and Cull. So they're only like a day or 2 away from the snap... I'm pretty sure the season will end with people disappearing, but what does that mean for season 6? Its either they follow whoever in the cast wasn't taken by the snap-- which would be weird considering the films won't even explore it until Avengers 4, or they'll just delay the season altogether until 2019/after Avengers 4 (because they usually air the new seasons in September-October).

They screwed themselves man.

@Kurne - Not to pee in the pool, but it’s pretty clear that Marvel Studios and Marvel TV are on a need-to-know basis — the show runners are given just enough info so as to not conflict with the movie storylines, but not enough so that they can construct an interweaving narrative with the films.

This is usually not a big deal, but unlike the Netflix shows, AGENTS OF SHIELD deals in world-ending crises — so it’s kind of a head scratcher when they’re not involved in the same stories as the Avengers. To solve this this season, the Agents were essentially bottled up in the Lighthouse. Sealed away from the bigger action, but still dealing with their own huge problem.

@NoAssemblyReqd - to me this shows the disconnect between the Film and TV division. Granted, we don't know the time jump (if any)between Infinity and A4 but with more info, AOS could have played the long game and tied the end of season 6 to the films (hopes there is a season 6)

Mack didn't make that statement. Unless that new dude is also named Mack and I'm having a brain fart.

It’d be cruel to have Fitz or Simmons disappear after all they’ve been through, but damn if it wouldn’t make for great TV!

As Daredevil season 2 was referenced in AOS season 3 (mention of a gang war in New York) that gives a rough timeline for the Netflix shows (from JJ season 1 to Punisher season 2) being set in the 2 year jump between Civil War and Infinity.

Anyone who wants to leave the show, or doesn't have their contract renewed could easily disappear. IMO most of the people who disappear will be background characters. I wonder how much Captain Marvel ties up Gregg....

Otherwise, it can be set in the "fixed" timeline (post A4) with 0 issues.

Captain Marvel including Coulson in its cast has given me this hope that we'll get a scene in Avengers 4 where he'll make the reveal to the Avengers that he's alive. Maybe it'd come during a scene where Steve Rogers are having a scene together where they're reconciling after Civil War and then Coulson walks into the room.

Stark and Steve start immediately questioning how he's been alive all this time but Coulson says how that doesn't matter. He talks about how his death brought the Avengers together and now that Fury is gone he needs them to do it again.

And then he says "by the way I've brought a few friends. We're gonna need everyone we've got."

And then Daisy and Robbie Reyes walk into the room.

I really want someone to vanish. A small reference won't cut it this time. People vanishing should cause panic, not just a "by the way" type thing.
