LOKI Star Tara Strong Confirms Season 2 Miss Minutes Return; Kevin Feige Teases Multiple Kang Variants In MCU

Loki star Tara Strong has confirmed that she will reprise the role of Miss Minutes in the show's second season, while Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has teased many future Kang the Conqueror Variants...

Loki kept us guessing about who was pulling the strings of the Time Variance Authority right up until the finale, with it finally revealed that He Who Remains was the architect of the Sacred Timeline.

The Kang the Conqueror Variant had figured out how to create a singular timeline by "pruning" those that diverged from his master plan, He Who Remains successfully wrested control of reality and time...until Sylvie killed him. With that, the Multiverse was reborn and madness has since ensued.

The villain warned Loki and Sylvie that this meant his Variants would be unleashed upon the Multiverse, and we'll see the first of them in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania next year. Beyond that, we expect to see another Kang in Loki season 2, with all of this ultimately leading to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars a few years from now.

Talking to ComicBook.com this weekend, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige praised actor Jonathan Majors for what he brings to the table as the MCU's new big bad.

"It's really impressive what Jonathan Majors is able to do, and all the different incarnations, Variants, if you will, of Kang that we will see him do," the executive teased. "It's really pretty cool."

Of course, Loki revealed that Miss Minutes was secretly doing the bidding of He Who Remains and later set off with Judge Renslayer to reveal more about her master's history. Now, talking to Popverse, Tara Strong confirmed what we all expected when asked if she's begun recording lines for season 2. "I haven’t yet, but a spoiler – she’s in it! I know that."

When we spoke to Strong earlier this year, she said this about Miss Minutes' return. "I’m so excited. I love her so much [Laughs]. It’s been so much fun. It’s been the most treasured time and so magic and special," the actor told us. "I hope I get to be with them this season because they had actually already recorded the series with a guide track voice that was just subbing in when they didn’t know who it was going to be."

"It had already been filmed and I got to play off them because I got to watch it live off my screen, but they didn’t get to play off me. I think it might be a fun treat, I’m just saying, to fly me to London to be on set with everybody [Laughs]."

Which Kang the Conqueror Variant are you most looking forward to seeing in the MCU?

It must be a really cool opportunity to be playing multiple different versions of a character. Unlike say Captain America or Iron Man, where yes you do get different arcs and the character evolves over time, you can really come in as a totally different character each time. I’m excited to see what they do with the Kang variants especially after seeing He Who Remains. Majors definitely has a presence.

Could see Iron Lad being basically just Majors as IronMan.

@HydraB0b - I feel like they’ll bring in a young actor for iron lad maybe have majors play the adult version

It's so damn awesome to see Majors given this opportunity and to see Marvel commit to it like this across the phases

Makes me wonder if Kang was the one who Sinister Strange lost to

@OmegaDaGrodd - that was kind of how I took it in MoM, that the one universe with Sinister Strange that had experienced an Incursion, was tied into Kang in some way.

@thewanderer - I figured it was another Strange, but the way they let the question linger makes me think they were teasing Kang. In the comics, Strange is running on a separate track from the Avengers and eventually even the Illuminati when it came to preparing for the final incursion, so I imagine he is going to be in a similar place here, on a collision course with Kang

Okay, I hate to be one of these people complaining about the CGI, "but", Miss Minutes does NOT look like a real clock. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something about it that doesn't look real.

@LSHF - I imagine she's intended to look a little cartoonish.
Magikarpex

@LSHF - Looks fine as a cartoonish character, but she has too many hours on her face.

@Magikarpex - You don't have 16 hours on a clock in your timeline? I found the Variant!

@TheRose - Rats, now I need to go into hiding again
LSHF

@Magikarpex - Those additional four lines (the thick ones) might not represent additional hours since the thinner lines are all equally spaced from the ones on either side. The thicker lines would make those hours on either side less than an hour. I hope that made sense.

And, yes, the thinner lines are not placed where clocks normally place them. It's confusing, and I would be interested in knowing why they are doing this.

@Goldboink - Lol. I guess "clocks" aren't a big priority in the big CGI scheme of things.

I hope a variant of Kang is the god they worship in Namor's civilization in Wakanda forever.

That would be cool instead of the Rama-tut angle.

I wonder with all these different variants, if Kang will take the place of Molecule Man in this adaptation of Secret Wars (2015). I know it's starting to look like he is taking the place of Dr Doom in that story, but I really hope that doesn't happen. Secret Wars is Doom's story.
ShimmyShimmyYA
ShimmyShimmyYA - 7/26/2022, 2:28 PM
@LeBronStan - I think they’ll be 2 seperate things tbh. KD will be stopping all the Kangs / Kang the conqueror from warring and destroying the universe .

SW will be doom taking advantage to do his stuff + the incursions / universes colliding

I legit can't wait to see more of his character, he is already scarier than Thanos.

I’m not entirely convinced Kang is the ‘big’ bad here.

@PlusUltra - I can definitely see Doom unleashing his full power to "save the day" in Kang Dynasty and then go full God Emperor mode in Secret Wars. His interactions with Reed over the fact that Reed's descendant is the greatest threat to all reality would be priceless.

@SerKurtWagner - that's exactly what I wanna see too. If someone's gonna one-up Kang, it's Doom

They couldn't have gotten luckier with casting this role - Majors is one of the most talented rising stars of his generation, and is clearly all-in on trying exciting new things with each version of Nathaniel/Kang.

And, if we get Iron Lad, Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things) needs to get called up.
