THE AVENGERS Lego Set Gives Us New Look At Mysterious Aliens

A new image has surfaced from the Toy Fair featuring one of The Avengers' Lego sets. Included are two figures who represent the mysterious aliens.

IGN has posted pics from the 2012 Toy Fair, including Lego's from the upcoming "Avengers" movie. The description for the set goes as follows:

"While riding his Avenging Cycle, Captain America spots the general on his craft. Help Captain America use his indestructible shield to defeat the general and his foot soldier! Win the battle and send them back to where they came from. The fate of the world lies in your hands. Includes 3 minifigures: Captain America and more."

Granted the LEGO is unfinished, but it does give us an idea of what to expect from the mysterious alien invaders in the movie. While I'm familiar with the various alien races in the Marvel universe, these don't resemble anything that could be the Skrulls, Badoon, or any other race which has been rumored. Who could they be?

The Avengers is directed by none other than Joss Whedon and comes to theaters this May, starring the likes of: Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, with Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. "The Avengers" assembles May 4, 2012.

I was mainly talking about the faces on the boxart behind the minifigs. But agreed, the trailer did give us the best look. I'll change the title a bit.

It's still preliminary. Once they reveal the aliens we'll get to the faces on the minifigs.

C'mon, on the box just behind them you can see their faces. Very human-like.

Those are the aliens that are on the gliders, and on the trailer they're already different from the jumping dudes.

so I think one of these is true:

1 - We're seeing different types of soldiers (attackers, pilots, elite warriors, etc etc)
2 - More than 1 race attacking the earth
3 - Skrulls (or whatever they wanna call them) are shapeshifters. They might be disguised as humans and begin the attack as humans. The dudes jumping were using helmets/masks.
