VIDEO GAMES: LEGO Marvel's Avengers Gets A Release Date - Pushed Back To 2016

In 2013, Tt Games proved, once again, that they are the gods of adapting a known and beloved franchise into a video game where everything is made out of oh so glorious LEGO with Lego Marvel. Well, they're taking another stab at the Marvel franchise, this time with a story that will be MORE than inspired by Marvel Studio's The Avengers film franchise, in the form of LEGO Marvel's Avengers. More meaning that they will actually be taking audio and dialogue from the films and inserting them into the game. But don't worry, Tt Games is still including various of the lesser known (to the general public, at least) characters from the Marvel mythos, including (but not limited to): Squirrel Girl, Ms America (America Chavez), Ms Marvel (Kamala Khan), Thor (Jane Foster), Speed, and many more fan-favourite characters. Because, to quote Nick Fury in The Winter Soldier, they're "nice like that".

The game was slated for release sometime in "Fall 2015", and the game has just received its official release date - and its not quite "Fall 2015" after all. No, LEGO Marvel's Avengers has received an official release date of January 26, 2016 (or Jan 29 in Europe). Fortunately for fans, they don't have to wait TOO much longer, but it is slightly disappointing nonetheless. In the meantime, there have been a number of screenshots for characters, that have all looked great so far.

So, what do you guys think? Are you excited for the release, or are you going to give it a miss? And who are you most excited for from who've they announced, and who do you hope makes it into the game's 150 playable characters? As always, leave your thoughts in the comments below!

@CovraCommander same here! I am also hoping for Kaine Parker (Scarlet Spider), Miles Morales (Spider-Man), Cindy Moon (Silk), Peter Porker (Spider-Ham) and Gwen Stacy (Spider-Gwen) on the spider side of things haha. Oh, and Julia Carpenter!

I do have a whole list of other non-spider characters, but I'll have to post it another time :P

@Homunculus97 all accurate points!

Who would you most like to see adapted in the game (that we haven't seen in the first one)?

Nah, the game got delayed because of Fallout 4, Black Ops 3, and Star Wars Battlefront coming out in the Fall as well. It's a good idea to push it to 2016.

The idea of having such a massive sandbox full of superheroes is fantastic. If only they weren't made of Lego, then I'd be excited.

@MaxEisenhardt

My dream is we will one day get a game with the expansive character list, large open world locations and replay value, but aimed at a more adult demographic, and not a stylised version of the world.

@marvel72

fair enough

@Homunculus97

I agree with everything you said
