Chevrolet unveiled a life-sized version of the LEGO Batmobile, inspired by the vehicle featured in the upcoming Warner Brother’s film “The LEGO Batman Movie”.  At 17-feet and nearly 1,700-pounds the LEGO Batmobile required 344,187 LEGO bricks to create and took 1,833 hours to build.  It was designed and assembled in Enfield, Connecticut

The LEGO Batman Movie is a is a computer-animated action-comedy superhero film.  The film is directed by Chris McKay and written by Seth Grahame-Smith, Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Jared Stern & John Whittington. It follows the highly successful 2014 film The Lego Movie, but will focus on the DC Comics character Batman.  The film is made using Lego bricks and populated by anthropomorphic miniature figures and the film's animation replicates a stop motion film even though everything is done through computer graphics.  Characters in the animated feature will be voiced by Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson and Ralph Fiennes.

The Batmobile is the vehicle the superhero Batman utilizes to fight crime. It is often depicted in comic books or live action features in various forms including as an all-terrain, self-powered, armored vehicle.  It is a key tool that Batman has traditionally used to fight crime and is stored in Batman’s secret hide out - the Batcave.  The Batmobile leaves and returns to the hideout through a hidden entrance and tunnels, often shown to be under a body of water or in the side of a hill.  The first appearance of the Batmobile was in Detective Comics #27 in May, 1939 and was as a red sedan.

@dubjon - But that is the thing...should Batman be classy? No! He is supposed to frighten his enemies...not impress them.
