The Dark Knight Rises is pulling out all the stops with its marketing. Just as CBM reported earlier this week, Warner Bros. has released interactive Movie Kiosks in certain theaters. At my Local Burbank AMC I found the standee and it allows you to record a video right on the spot. First you pick your character (Batman, Bane or Catwoman) then it tracks your head as you record a message...with the character's mask you picked on! It's not perfect, but I thought it was very cool way to advertise the film.

For your amusement I recorded what all three look like. The cool part is the Bane one deepens your voice!

@TheGoddamnBatman - Really? Because I swear that EVERYTIME I log on to CBM there is a new article about a new commercial or new trailer. And I wouldn't mind as much but this movie is still almost a month away.

Bring on The Dark Knight Rises!

@Peacher, I think the marketing is doing good, they're just not releasing clips of scenes like TASM and The Avengers

I think the marketing for this movie has been quite impressive. Aside from the trailers and tv spots we got the prologue early on. Even the viral marketing they used to unveil the locations for the prologue screenings was unique and mysterious. The voices reading off all the coordinates and no one knew what the hell it was for. Then there is all the random documents regarding everything from CIA intel about Dr. Pavel to the Batman investigation to the Harvey Dent Day announcement and anything in between that I may have forgotten. Then there was the Bat symbol hunt that had people across the globe searching for little chalk drawings and posting them to twitter which eventually unlocked a trailer screen shot by screen shot. And the Tumbler and Bat-pod touring cities across the US. The T-shirt contrest, the trailer contest. Everyone must admit, the marketing for this movie has been anything but sub-par. Get over it.

@Preacher For all we know, TDRK Could (And I use that loosely) break The Avengers record. If TDK could do it in 08, then there may be little hope.

And honestly, how many people knew who John Carter was before the movie? I didn't.

Well, those dispel all the talk here that these films are for adults. Only a kid would subject themselves to that kind of thing. :-P

That's actually pretty cool. They are really going all out with the marketing for TDKR.

First that creative billboard, and then this.

I would much prefer they make a good movie than a good marketing campaign. It worked out great for me with John Carter. But I guess I can see WB wanting to make money, but its easier to do when you put out a product that makes me want to spend my money on it.

The marketing for this movie BLOWS!!!! Every trailer I've seen, every TV spot I've seen have ALL been online. I haven't seen anything on TV, and I've seen none of the trailers in the theater.. no trailer with The Avengers, no trailer with Prometheus. I don't get it. Everything I know about this movie I've learned exclusively online. Disappointing. Nothing better than seeing the trailers on the big screen at the theater.
