The name "Bruce Wayne" comes from the King of Scotland Robert Bruce. You might remember him for being portrayed in the 1995 movie "Braveheart". The last name Wayne comes from "Mad" Anthony Wayne, an Army Officer during the fight for independence in the United States. Batman was created by Bob Kane & Bill Finger  in 1939.

Something you might not know is that during the 60's, in the spanish translation of the comicbooks for latinamerica, his name was changed to "Bruno Díaz", since it was considered that "Wayne" wasn't  appealing to the target demographic. It has been changed back since in the last years, but it comes up in a book or two once in a while.

Dick Grayson's name was also changed to "Ricardo Tapia", a name that stuck pretty much until Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin.

The name "Clark Kent" comes from the actors Clark Gable and Kent Taylor. They were both famous actors from the 30's and 40's. Gable is mostly remembered for his part in the iconic film "Gone with the wind". Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and first officially published in 1938.

Unlike Batman, Clark's name wasn't changed in the 60's latinamerican translation, since there was no spanish name it could be compared with. However, it did affect Lois Lane, as she was renamed "Luisa Lane".
