Now that Batman v. Supeman: Dawn of Justice is out, I believe it's about time we discuss what happens next in the world of the DCEU. The film showed us glimpses of what's coming next and left us with questions about each character's future in Justice League. Now assuming Dawn of Justice does well financially and Justice League is still set to film in April, let's speculate each league member's future.
Oh, by the way. SPOILERS!!! In case you didn't know.
Superman
Well, he's dead, Jim. But since we know Henry Cavill is back for JL, saw the levitating dirt at the end of the movie, and of course, know the Death of Superman arc, it's obvious he's coming back (can't say the same for AOU Quicksilver). Now, I believe this will be the start of a reborn Superman. Say what you want about the Jesus imagery (I'm indifferent) but this fits in with the theme and serves as the ressurection. Chris Terrio has said that Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice, and Justice League form a trilogy. Superman's trilogy in my opinion. JL will be the culmination of Superman's character and I personally believe and hope, the start of the Superman we all know and love. Who that Superman is, however, is a whole nother article.
Batman
Bruce Wayne at the end of the movie says he won't let Superman die in vain (not his actual words but you know what I mean). It was his death that finally convinces Bruce that men can be good. I think this is the beginning of a changed Batman. In DOJ, we saw how the destruction in MOS caused Batman to be more cruel. This possibly is what caused him to break his no kill rule (either that or the death of Robin). This is another story arc I like to see explored in the Ben Affleck and Geoff John's Batman film we all know we're getting soon. A Batman who learns from Superman and is less willing to kill. In Scott Synder's Batman #50, Batman comes back with a less dark and more lighter personality. With Justice League said to be the lightest of the "trilogy", I wouldn't be suprise if DCEU Batman becomes something similar.
Wonder Woman
To echo almost everyone, she stole the show! From what little we saw of her, I'm very excited to see her kick ass in her solo film. Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins have said that the Wonder Woman in her film will be different from the one we got in DOJ. The story of how a naive and curious Wonder Woman becomes Diana Prince should be a fun adventure. The solo is said to also take place in the present, so I expect some hints on her and Batman's search for metahumans.
Aquaman
His credit scene was cool and shows he is not a person to mess around with it! I envision him to be reluctant to trust the surface world and Batman and Wonder Woman having a hard time recruit him into the JL. With Amber Heard's casting as Mera, there's a good chance Atlantis will be featured in JL and Aquaman's character will be explored. His solo along with Flash's will take place after JL, so it's possible the ending of the latter will tie in directly to his solo with the Flash solo in between.
The Flash
As a fan of the Flash (suprising, I know), I loved both of his cameo scenes. The first fits in with his messanger role in DC mythology and is a nice homage to him warning Batman about the Anti-Moniter in Crisiss on Infinite Earths. With Ezra Miller's personality, I see the Flash as the heart of the JL and will bring the much needed lightness to the film after the, what many would say, too dark DOJ.
Cyborg
Very interesting cameo that I didn't expect. It was assumed that Cyborg's cameo in the film would be him before he gained his cybernetic body. But from what we have seen, his father has already aquired a mother box and made him Cyborg. Not much else to infer from the scene but from what Ray Fisher has said about the character (Borg Life!), I'm very interested in his role in JL.
Other
No hints about Green Lantern have been spotted in DOJ (maybe in the Ultimate Edition?) and it has be speculated he (or they) might not appear in JL at all. The mother box and omega symbol hint to Darkseid as a future villian, possibly in JL 2. Lex Luther is in prison so the rumors of him being in Suicide Squad might be true. With J.K. Simmons set to play Commissioner Gordan, I expect him to have a important role in JL and the Batman solo film.
