BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Deleted Scene Sees Okoye Become A Superhero In Her Own Right

A third deleted scene from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (you can find the first two here and here) has been released, and we're honestly surprised this was left on the cutting room floor.

Taken from the end of the movie, we get an extended look at Shuri's arrival in Haiti, only this time, she's met there by Okoye. The new Black Panther explains she no longer needs the bodyguard's protection, prompting the former member of the Dora Milaje to reveal that she's taking that Midnight Angel suit and heading off on her own superhero adventures.

She promises to always be there for Shuri, and it feels a lot like this was meant to set the stage for Ryan Coogler's rumoured Disney+ TV series based on the world of Wakanda.

Okoye rescuing Everett Ross from his predicament with the CIA was also a good way of making it clear that the hero is going to do her own thing now, so that might be why this was cut. It is, however, worth noting that we've heard nothing about that show for quite some time now.

Regardless, we're sure Okoye will return to the MCU sooner rather than later, while there have been rumours lately that we'll next see Shuri in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Coogler is rumoured to be taking the helm of the latter, but we don't expect Black Panther 3 to be released until the next Saga kicks off whatever happens on that front.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ranks among Marvel Studios' best movies, and is an emotional, uplifting, tour de force of a blockbuster," we said in our review last year. "Letitia Wright delivers a powerhouse performance, while Angela Bassett’s majestic work will leave you reeling."

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will debut on Disney+ on February 1 ahead of its DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD release on February 7.

The Arrowverse started doing this same thing too where everyone would turn into a superhero during the later seasons when shows quality were diminishing. It got boring real fast cause like the saying goes "When everyone is a Super no-one is".

@WarMonkey - Yeah but Okoye WAS a super hero in the comics as was Shuri so I don't think that's a fair comparison as the Arrowverse was making heroes out of people who were never associated with such things within the comics at all.

@DianaGohan - Arrowverse has been on air for more than a decade, Shuri and Okeye being Suped up is relatively recent though. Coincidentally they Suped up around the same time all of the Arrowverse shows started doing it to side characters too.

@WarMonkey - it's a pet peeve of mine when movies do this. Like when Potts became a super hero in Iron man 3. Idk it rubbed me the wrong way. If you make anyone an Avenger, the significance loses meaning

@Vigor - Ya pet peeve is good way to describe it for me to. I used to think it was really cool years ago but it's become too much now. Seems like every Superhero show and movie are doing it now with every side character. Like Flash show is a great example, I think everyone besides Joe has been or is a Super.

@LiteralSense - Lol!!!!!!! I'm a troll because didn't like the movie?

This site was made for people to discuss, rant about their likes or dislikes of comics, movies, etc.

Everyone is not universally agree or disagree with everything.
That fact that you don't understand, and decide to call someone a troll shows your level of maturity.

Did I make any PERSONAL attacks here, did you work directly with the cast on the set of the movie? If not then you might want to grow up and accept that everyone is not going to like what YOU like.

Glad they cut this. Too bad they didn’t cut the whole subplot/design for the Midnight Angel because that suit is hideous.
