The Black Panther Movie Should Be Marvel's Best Movie Period! Or At Least Most Powerful!

My thoughts on why The Black Panther movie could have an impact not just on movie theaters but the world!

First, let me start by saying thank God for Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for having the courage to create a black superhero in a time when blacks were left out, segregated and left down. Fast foward almost 50 years later and the same need for The Black Panther is still relevant but this time it's in movie form. Second thank God for Kevin Feige who dragged his feet for so long but finally saw fit to unleash The Black Panther on movie goers.

My husband (Gab) and I just hope that Marvel doesn't turn Black Panther and his abilities down so that certain movie goers (who already don't want to see a black superhero movie in the first place) can bare the thought of actually watching it. After all, the Black Panther is no sidekick but very much a LEADER. He is no flunky, he is a King, a King of his own country might I add. He has more money than Batman and Iron-Man, and he kicked Captain America's ass. I should also add that Marvel doesn't turn down any of their other big characters, not one if anything they exaggerate their comic book abilities.
The Black Panther has had a superstar girlfriend and later married one of the strongest female mutants in the world. (By the way I know she won't be in the movie).

I must also add he is smarter than Reed Richards A.K.A Mr. Fantastic, he's also a politician, he's militant and not very trusting... he was raised that way. He has diamonds, gold, oil, and vibranium at his disposal. He also has a harem, female bodyguards, and many women in the Marvel Universe would kill to be with him (even the married Sue Richards has constant flirting or an obsession with the Black Panther).

My husband (Gab) remebers Stan Lee talking about when they created the Black Panther and how they wanted him to have it all. The power, pride, money, and intelligence because they would see little black kids in the height of racism carrying white superhero comics and getting spit on, and they felt bad.
So here we are in 2014 in the middle of peaceful protest for black lives lost at the hand of our police departments. Racial tension is high as usual. We have little black kids walking around in malls, stores, and schools with their Spider-Man, Batman, Captain America, Thor, Superman, and Iron-Man bookbags. These kids don't even notice their favorite superhero's color but the whole world notices theirs as they are followed and still vilified with all of the black firemen, policemen, school teachers, star athlete's, entertainers, and even President, and yet still vilified. Public enemy number 1, far from a hero. The Black Panther gives movie goers a chance to see a super black man be cast in a superhero's light.
If Marvel truly plays into the Black Panther's abilities and character like they should, hands down this could be the best superhero flick ever made, but as black as Panther's suit is I don't think they will let him over shadow some of Marvel's other big stars. Prove me wrong Kevin Feige and let the Black Panther loose. Make his country of Wakanda as breath takingly beautiful as it's described in the comics.

By the way you have Chadwick Boseman one of our best and brightest young black actors. Don't waste his talents and make him forced to play the background like Samuel L. Jackson, and Anthony Mackie. Nick Fury is an incompetent black leader who white understudies don't even listen to. Is he in charge, Is he not in charge? Who knows. "Iron-Man, Cap what in the world should we do?"
P.S. Have you seen the Black Panther's suit? Unreal!!!

I'm sick and tired of people saying that Black Panther looks like Batman when Black Panther's suit was black and had a black cape first. Batman has always been blue and grey except in the movies, glad to see he's going back to his original color with Ben Affleck.
Here's a link of Stan Lee sharing his thought's on co-creating the Black Panther and some other characters. It's only 1:05 seconds of your time people.

                                            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vxxdoyysujw
In the way he is describing the X-MEN it sounds like he is describing the black experience. Stan Lee you are the best and BTW you do know you and Gab share the same birthday.

@Gliderman Color is irrelevant?! What world do you live in? Do you watch tv? Do you read the comments people leave on this website? Color is irrelevant to you because you are never under attack. I love watching you people get upset when people hit you with the truth. Ask Stan Lee if color is irrelevant. And BTW we do!! And I know why they call you Gliderman ;/

@MexicanStupidman When black people shoot black people they go to jail, when white cops shoot black folks the laws protect them they don't like your mexican ass either why are you offended? You should be offended by being the butt of so many white jokes about lawn mowers and burritos. Stand for something and Fall for anything. You stay quiet we got our shit.

@MrSotoMan you are a true piece of shit, you are the biggest racist I have ever seen. You can't even acknowledge racism pretending to be colorblind but just blind to a whole group of peoples issues of racial injustice that continues. So eat shit!

You two seem like a lovely couple ;)

I'll say this. The superhero community ought to be a lot more diverse (with ALL ethnicities), but obviously due to, well... history, this hasn't happened. But change is happening, it might not be fast enough, but a large number of people actually want it.

Why does everything about race still have to be a war for some people (and I mean on both sides)?

Oh God. I jumped headfirst into this topic in that article about Idris Elba being rumored to be James Bond...but I'm not going anywhere near this haha. No matter what your thoughts on everything going on right now, comicbookmovie.com is NOT the place to discuss it.

@MexicanStupid you fight for the white mans justice my people have me! You brought up one case of a black cop shooting an unarmed white kid when CNN said that every 20 days a white cop shoots and unarmed black man with only one conviction in the last 3 years of a white officer. Long as some white people treat you good you can bury your head into comic books and pretend that everything is fine but in the streets young people of ALL COLORS are out protesting against racism. I don't have to respond to shit you say who are you? Two wrongs don't make a right but people are fed up but not you, you make racists jokes about your own people, I'm sure around a bunch of white folks. How can they respect you, you don't respect yourself. LOSER!!

While I do think Black Panther could potentially be Marvel's strongest film, I think what you said about race is a bit off. I'm a black man myself and I can confirm that being black has lead to me being stereotyped and had racist comments thrown at me, but I can also say I've seen many in my community of fellow black folk do fact be the same to other races. Racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. exist in all groups of people and unless we evolve as a species it always will. It may die down, but never go away. Now due to stereotypes, which exist for a reason, the black community do receive more prejudice than most others, but pretending as though the problem is as bad as you describe is the same tactics radical feminist use, which has made feminism so undesirable to many today.

The line about black children walking around with comic paraphernalia that is full of Caucasian character, and being color blind to it, is a great quote, until the you get to the end. We should not care about race(in this context) as much as we do; a great comic book character is a great comic book character regardless of race. We shouldn't be advocating for a great Black Panther film soley for the benefit of the black community, but because, Black Panther is a great character who deserve the best treatment.

@RexTheKing we aren't saying that he should be the best because he is black we said he should be the best because Stan Lee made him that way. And you don't have to be worried about race just wait until the right white cop pulls you over. But what is wrong with saying that we want our kids to have someone they can identify with? Look how these comic books mess people up you got a Mexican thinking he is Superman LOL!

@Gab Sorry but weren't you just lecturing about racist jokes minute ago(to your mexicansuperman comment).

What is wrong with your children identifying with someone that is not their race? With your mindset, you are sort of forcing segregation in your own household, while being firmly against it in the rest of the world.

Peaceful protests? I would have to disagree, more like riots. I understand their anger but they did more damage for their cause than aiding it. We, america, as a whole are to blame for those murders. The individuals who committed the murders should never have been police, our standards for police need to raise. We need to ensure this never happens again, in my opinion that is changing the hiring process of police, not hire anybody because they want to be a police officer. Sorry, off topic.

I agree T'Challa is what all men should strive to be, he is intelligent, courageous, kind, wise, and so much more. Wakanda is what the world should strive to be, a Utopia. For me Wakanda and BP's skin color only comes into play due to location, Africa. Wakanda is beyond racism, classicism, or any prejudice period.

T'Challa must be shown correctly. He is the ultimate hero. He, to me, was the best qualities of every Marvel character.

Anyone who compares T'Challa to Bruce Wayne is more than likely a DC fan. Pain and loss due not drive T'Challa, his drive comes from his love of Wakanda. Yes Batman loves Gotham, but he has to rip away at the evil. T'Challa's ancestors did their best to keep Wakanda from the evils of people.

I agree, this is Marvel's most important film to date, I have faith Fiege will ensure we see the correct T'Challa and Wakanda.

Ya know....I feel like FirstLady and Gab are the same person. Meh...I don't care enough really.

Please don't attack me for saying the word [racial slur] like I feel is gonna happen. I'm saying that because I've been in enough race related comment sections for one day. And I'm not saying that because I'm white. Cause I'm not.

When is it ever a right time to talk about racism? Let's address the Black Panther in the room. He was created during and about racism ask Stan Lee.

Some white people will tell you there is no racism so you don't stand against it. While their laws and rules are built off of racism.

@KingtheKong I honestly couldn't care less for the word [racial slur], especially in the context you used it. [racial slur] now, is just a more slang version of bro, in which the black community wants to keep as their own, due to the meaning behind the proper use of the word. Unless it's being used in its proper form, no offense should be taken, and even if it is, the word literally means ignorant, which isn't race specific. Yes it is an offensive thing to say to someone, but no more than actually calling a person ignorant. Plus people should be upset at the intent of being racist when the word is used, not the word itself coming out the mouth of a non black person.
