MarvelFreshman:So there you have it. I thought Marvel would have this together by now. But it is 18 long months before the film is released, so I'm sure they could get things together. I just don't want another pushback.

UPDATE: Raj Marwa, who claimed via Twitter that he is involved with designing several movie costumes for Marvel and DC, has just released this video response directly aimed at the users of ComicBookMovie.com:

We'll try to get confirmation from either Marvel or DC regarding his claims, until then it's up to you to decide how viable they are.

Jeez, MarvelFreshman! Yet another brilliant find!!! :) Though I'm really looking forward to seeing what costume/s they go with, at this point I'm far more interested in finding out who the hell is going to play Cap, lol!

TYLER: Yeah, I 100% agree! Not only would that Ultimate WWII suit look amazing on the big screen but it makes perfect sense to use it - Cap's regular costume just wouldnt look right during WWII!

MF-have you confirmed this guy is actually working on Cap. Like Demon says, the guy claims he is also working on martian manhunter & spawn? That seems like a lot of different comic lines, studios, etc...
DCMarvelFreshman
DCMarvelFreshman - 1/21/2010, 5:33 PM
Thats the way things are supposed to be. This guy is a professional artist. Studios comes to him for art that they would like on paper. Marvel & DC are those studios. And if that isn't enough, he just told me:

"@Marvel_Freshman...i have a few sketches but marvel have made me sign a contract not to show of any designs"

That sounds like Marvel, being sworn in secrecy.

You all do know that WW2 costume doesn't necassarily mean the Ultimates WW2 outfit.

Durring WW2 and a long time afterwards Caps costume was different than the classic we know of today. The verticle red and white stripes didn't wrap arround his back.
DogsOfWar
DogsOfWar - 1/21/2010, 5:43 PM
I don't know MF-he has a myspace page (seems like the same guy) and does a lot of fan fic stuff. I am not saying your wrong but he could be jerking your chain.

I have quite a few hairs on my chest but Playgirl had me sign a contract not to show em. LOL
DCMarvelFreshman
DCMarvelFreshman - 1/21/2010, 5:59 PM
Any professional artist would have a myspace, or a way of showing there work. He is not apart of any company. He is just a really good drawer. Then professional Studios see his work online, and hire for the job. But it's your opinions, and I can't change that.
ManOfIron
ManOfIron - 1/21/2010, 6:00 PM
ok, from what my deductive skills have lead me to in regards to the "feathers" on his torso, I'm thinking he means the "scales" look. Basically the top-left picture of the 4 at the bottom of the article. Great find btw.

I agree with Tyler. Ultimate WW2 Cap ftw!!!!
TheDemonHunter
TheDemonHunter - 1/21/2010, 6:22 PM
@Hawksblueyes -- If I recall, the stripes not wrapping around was explained as being the costume of the non-Steve Rogers Captain America of the 50s. This was how Falcon and Sharon Carter figured out which one to fight against when the 50s Captain America (later the Grand Director) was fighting the real Cap in 1972. They retconned it so that the Grand Director wasn't a racist made unstable by imperfections in the forumla he'd used but that he'd been brainwashed to be that way.

I get the feeling I might be skipping this movie. I know I'm in the minority about this here, but the Ultimate WWII fatigues are not something I want to pay to look at on the big screen for two hours. If they go that route, I'll probably skip it entirely unless I get free tix or something.

Hahahah...so fake. So very very fake.

Hey news flash: anyone can create a twitter account.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 1/21/2010, 6:28 PM
DemonHunter: The 50's Cap you mentioned modeled his costume after the original Cap costume. When Steve Rogers Switched to the wrap arround stripes, the other guy didn't. What was his name btw? I can never remember it.
I'll try and find some old pics of it to post.

The last one is listed as being from Feb. 1944. I'm sorry it didn't come through, but it was issue 35 so at least one of these is actually earlier than that.

kitboy33 - 1/21/2010, 6:41 PM
Well...if you Google his name, a little ways down the list is a video of him inking a Captain America sketch.

IMHO...it sucks..lol. I don't think he's a good enough artist to be "costume designing" for this.

I'm thinking it's all bull*#%*!
XmutantX
XmutantX - 1/21/2010, 6:41 PM
yea deff 4 the past parts cap should deff be wearing the WW2 getup!....

as 4 the spawn movie...it is gonna be a small budget movie and todd mcfarlen himself will be directing it...he said he wants 2 make it like the departed meets jaws...as in spawn will only be in the movie as a backround character or sum shit...the one u see lurking in the shadows....
