New 52's Amanda Waller

John Ostrander has called DC Comics' changes to Amanda Waller "misguided".

"I don't control what happens with Waller or where she goes or how she looks - she is owned by DC Entertainment and Warners," wrote Ostrander on ComicMix. "I knew that going in. She is their property.

"That said, I think the changes made in her appearance are misguided. There were and are reasons why she looked the way she did. I wanted her to seem formidable and visually unlike anyone else out there.

Old version of Amanda Waller

"Making her young and svelte and sexy loses that. She becomes more like everyone else. She lost part of what made her unique."

I missed the old Waller. She reminded me of my 2nd Grade teacher

I agree she needs to close down an all you can eat buffet. That way she can be back to the way I love the character. She just is more intimidating huge then a stick figure.

I completely understand where he's coming from, but you have to consider that some artists were drawing her as a morbidly obese 300 lb woman, which makes even less sense. The pendulum's just swung in the other direction. And let's be honest, all appearances aside, having a black woman in a position of authority over super heroes and villains already sets her apart. Doesn't matter if she's fat, skinny, pretty, or ugly - she'll still be a stone cold bitch who doesn't take shit from anyone.

I thought Pam Grier was a great Amanda Waller and had the perfect look for her.

Does anyone actually like the premise of New 52? I know some people like certain titles (and there are always diamonds in the rough), but it is pretty much a total reboot of the whole universe for no real reason.

Spider-Man lost me the same way. After One More Day, I genuinely didn't know what was canon and what wasn't, so rather than wrack my brain about it, I dropped it and haven't missed it.

I 100% agree. I hate ho win the New 52 they have made her into a skinny and sexy person. That is not Amanda Waller.

THAT is Amanda Waller. Not every comic book character has to be gorgeous.

OLD versions better, shes hard and bad ass

New 52 version is just more tits - lame

New 52 sucks in general anyway, DC ruined their whole Universe for a quick buck.

EARTH 2 good though, but you cant beat the modern classic DC Universe, all they did was Ultimate it but ruined long running titles.

Lots of New 52 has been awesome like Flash, Aqua-Man, Wonderwoman, JL Dark, Animal-man I also liked Firestorm till they canceled it. I wish with Batman they would have totally dropped Damian and also they had not changed some of the stuff with Tim Drake.

The Flash was awesome b4 the New 52 as was most of the others too.

With every one of the good ones there's five that aren't that good, so that ain't good at all. (Blackhawks, Stormwatch, Action Comics, Superboy, Teen Titans, Batman and Robin, etc, etc)

Used to buy 30 plus DC titles a month, lucky to buy 4 or 5 now sigh...

Make Mine MARVEL ;)

On a serious note though, DC pissed over years, decades of readership and collecting for a watered down mirrored Universe that wont last, its hardly NEW anymore...
