Following the recent news that the adaptation of Neil Gaiman's
Sandman had just hired a new writer, JGL takes to Facebook to announce his departure from the project.
He states that due to Warner Brothers shifting
"...the entire catalogue of Vertigo comics (an imprint of DC) to their subsidiary, New Line" and himself realising that
"...the folks at New Line and I just don't see eye to eye on what makes Sandman special, and what a film adaptation could/should be...I decided to remove myself from the project. I wish nothing but the best for the team moving forward."
So there you have it, another instance of creative differences from studio heads leading to collaborative artists (in this case JGL, who was expected to direct and star in the film) leaving the project.
