Robert Irwin's 1939 "
Detective No. 27" which features the first appearance of Batman is expected to sell for $400,000 when the online auction finishes on November 18th.
Not a bad investment when Irwin only paid 10 cents for the comic!
Of the quarter of a million "
Detective No. 27" copies that were printed - there is thought to be only 150 still in existence.
As a guide - a copy of "
Detective No. 27" sold for $575,000 earlier this year, and a copy in mint condition sold for $1,075,000.
