The new costume was a piece of sh1T... pretty much like the X-Men Fox franchise! : P

I'd say only her old costume will work in comics. And not necessarily the new one will work on the screen, but something practical either way. Unless y'all want Uwe Boll to direct WW, rest assured no production company or execs will allow her original costume to be put on the big screen. Unless, however, they are truly deprived of logic... just like Uwe Boll. Heh heh haa...

The new costume makes Wonder Woman look like she's a wannabe trying out for a hip-hop dance troop! Whoever came up with that idea should have his drawing hand severed by the Sword of Hephaestus! Get rid of it NOW!!!

Jer3miah - A leather version of the classic design would translate PERFECTLY onto the big screen:

YAY!!!!!!

@Earz....hell yes, I was with you on that, this costume she is using now is only a minor one and not the official suit from that point on.

@loganoneil: I'm sorry, but I wouldn't take that outfit serious in the real world. It's hard enough taking Superman's suit seriously. I can see the pic above illustrated in one scene maybe by her native soil, but not practical in the streets of a city. I'm sure there's a way for designers to merge WW's old with a modern suit. A mixture respective of the source.

The problem with the 'modern' outfit is that only fans of the comic book will recognize it. If you're a movie studio trying to push Wonder Woman to a mass-audience, you're going to want to go with something EVERYONE knows... and everyone KNOWS Wonder Woman by the 'classic' look! Sorry Jer3miah, the only way I can see them doing this is to go with the leather-look!

I don't get how Wonder Woman looks different in every comic and every animated movie. She is a big DC character and they can't decide what she looks like. It boggles the mind.

MTL: Nolan may have made Batman's suit practical, but he kept it close in look and feel to the iconic suit that you look at it see Batman. He didn't get rid of the cape, cowl, utility belt or the giant bat on the chest.

This alternate WW change in look wasn't even pratical. Tight pants and the jacket would actually limit movement in battle, where exposed limbs give a full range of motion. And she's highly durable, nigh invulnerable in most incarnations... so she doesn't need the "protection" it would provide.

They totally changed her look from what anyone would recognize and threw some W's and stars on it to say "hey, it's still her!"

This is the best news I've heard in a long time! The classic Wonder Woman costume is something that Wonder Woman owns, that new style looked a whole lot like Rogue and less like Wonder Woman. When you think of all the girls in the media (and everywhere else) who look up to this character it is important you keep iconic characters iconic. I realize people want to change things but Wonder Woman is a warrior and classic warriors are not worried about covering up skin. Back in the day wrestlers fought naked. I think her old costume is completely practicle and nessesary for the health of the character.

for WW to make a come back to none 30+ years old comic book fans ( AKA: THE 1999 YEARS ) the new show need to be a big super hit.

@ TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY toMAYto/toMAHto ...basically splitting hairs on word definitions there. Point still stands Batman's costume change was nowhere as near as drastic as the WW change.

Im not feeling the 50s underware, they need to give her modern undies then keep everything the same. DCs costumes are soooooo outdated and look stupid!

They should take a page from Marvel and keep their comics current... oh I forgot, fan boys don't like change. So they would rather their characters look like they did in the 50s even though they look silly by todays standards =P

@loganoneil: Well, when ya put it that way, you pose a very valid point. Marketing would be an issue for her outsider her usual attire. Hmm, what a dilemma that would be. Perhaps they could use that leather outfit in half the movie and toward the end, she can sort of develop a need for a more modern look. Hm, maybe. Or they could just keep it, lol. What if they made that same exact suit in a more futuristic style? Think that'd work???

@Jer3miah: Why change her look at all? She's lived on an isolated island that's been separate from the modern world for centuries... All she would know is something Gladiator inspired.

Let's face it, heroes rarely choose their costumes on practicality or modernism. They choose what works for them. In fact, most of them (with their bright colors, huge emblems, capes, etc) are chosen to stand out from the masses. So why must WW choose "modern" clothes in her hero-work? Understandably so in her civilian identity.... not so much when running with the capes.

@MovieTheaterLad -You must be non-straight. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Part of WW's HUGE appeal is that she is like 1 of the hottest babes ever, kicking ass in the sexiest superhero outfit ever. It's part of what took her to icon status with men and women. Guys want to be with her. Women want to be here. You change the costume, you lessen the appeal at a point where she is having a surge of popularity. Keep it sexy!

@SkarrJones: --"You must be non-straight. Not that there's anything wrong with that."-- That was a ridiculous statement. I am a man who is quite gay and I ONLY love her iconic look because it's just that-- classic. The new costume looks even more dated and completely uninspired. Straight men may love her sexiness, but gay men love her fierceness. And the most flamboyant love her fabulousness. Although I'm not flamboyant, not that there's anything wrong with that (wink, wink).

The real crime is how WW is handled with such nonchalance by male execs (David E. Kelley, you cliched hack) who disregard her iconic stature and look. They have no qualms about making her weaker and de-powered because, well after all, she's 'only a female superhero not a "real" superhero'. They would never do that to Superman. Smallville gets away with it because he's NOT Superman yet. And it's plain to see that Nolan's Batman, for anyone who knows classic comics, looks much more like the very FIRST Batman created by Bob Kane in the 30s (i.e. almost all black with a black emblem, never appears in daytime, etc..) The update was the armor which makes sense.

I have loved the original Wonder Woman since I was a child. I loved the Lynda Carter TV show. Perhaps the addition of practical (since that word seems so important to anyone who complains) straps to the corset would work. The very original WW did actually wear a skirt so a gladiator kilt seems sensible for an Amazonian warrior. It amazes me that practicality never gets mentioned in regard to Superman wearing his underwear over tights...or Spider-man having no mouth-hole on his mask.
