The director of Life As We Know It and producer on Green Lantern doesn't confirm anything, but he doesn't deny anything either!

Comingsoon.net caught up with Berlanti at Showest(This dude seems to have spoken to everyone now!) and asked him about his new film, but squeezed in a couple of questions about the upcoming CBM he has been linked to, The Flash. He also chats a bit about working with Martin Cambell on Green Lantern.

The CBM related stuff comes in around 2.40...



In response to being asked about directing The Flash...

"Nah, you know right now, it's all about... 'Green Lantern' just started shooting a couple of days ago and everyone is really excited about that. I'm mostly focused just on finishing up this movie. I haven't really thought about any of that stuff yet, but just hoping this goes well."

When asked how the shoot's been going on Green Lantern....

"Yeah, it's a dream come true. Martin Campbell is one of the best directors today, and Donald De Line who is producing is amazing, and obviously, everyone is ecstatic about Ryan and Blake and everyone else, so it really is a dream come true."

So some pretty good dodging of the question there, but that smile suggests to me that he will indeed be helming The Flash and that he just can't reveal anything about it yet. Massive speculation time. If he does take the gig, and like many fledgling directors he wants to work with actors he is already comfortable with, could it be possible we see Josh Duhamel as Flash?

It'll be great to see DC start making some more superhero movies...I mean, it's about time! And although I may not be a fan of a lot of these characters, I'd still like to see them on the big screen alongside Marvel's movies! :)

I hope too that the Flash gets made I mean shit it is the Flash ... The fast man alive... ;-) Even the concept game was amazing looking....

I was never crazy about The Flash..at least in a solo comic..I mean I haven;'t read that many so I don't have a good frame of reference, but I prefer him as part of the JL.

Plus the original Flash is Dark hair and Wally west is the Blonde and this guy is no Wally West

So, is the movie only going to be about Barry? I grew up reading the JL and Barry was the Flash I was introduced to and really came to embrace.

However, most of the last 20 years the Flash has been Wally West and I have to admit I like him a lot. Grant Morrison's run on the Flash was simply awesome and it was Wally, not Barry, that carried the torch and made the Flash an amazing character.

My opinion is if they are going to do a Flash movie they need to have both Barry and Wally in it.

Greg Berlanti? Has he done anything yet? What are his film/tv credits?

I'm only asking because i don't just want some new guy with little experience to be directing the live action film version of one of my favorite superheroes.

Barry Allen is a must for the film. Skipping to Wally as the flash is just plain ridiculous.

And hopefully production for this film will start immediately after GL

wait until the Harry Potter movies end..then we will be a new DC movie every year!!!..well I hope!

In other news, The Flash has joined in with the "Just say no" campaign to eliminate druguse from amongst young people.

I have two people in mind to play the Flash (Barry Allen), both of which will be undoubtedly controversial choices. But I'm going to save it for my fan cast.

All the secret Green Lantern fans will come out of the woodwork. Hes excellent at directing action sequences, so he seems like a good choice.
