Preparing for the Green Lantern film this summer, Stone Arch Books has five new Green Lantern books aimed at younger readers, as a part of their DC Super Heroes line. The target audience is the age nine to twelve range with each book is fifty six pages long and selling for around six dollars each for the paperback version.
The books will feature Sinestro's fall, Sinestro Corp and even the Blue Lanterns.
Here's the childrens books line(Description of the different books content is found under the pictures):

Green Lantern - Guardian of Earth by Michael Dahl

"During a routine test flight above the deserts of the Southwest, ace pilot Hal Jordan has a too-close-for-comfort encounter with a UFO. His jet takes a nosedive, but before Hal bites the dust, a gigantic green hand appears, grabs the aircraft, and prevents the crash. The mysterious UFO reveals Hal's alien rescuer who possesses an amazing green ring of untold power. What does Hal do when the alien offers him the ring, and announces that the human pilot is now the new Guardian of Earth?"

Green Lantern - The Last Super Hero by Michael Dahl

Hal Jordan of Earth is recruited to join an intergalactic law enforcement squadron known as the Green Lanterns. He is summoned to their headquarters on the planet Oa, which lies at the center of the universe. Unknown to Hal, or any of his new alien partners, is that a a traitor lurks within their league. Betrayal and destruction strike Oa without warning. The Green Lanterns mysteriously lose their powers just as they face their greatest enemy. Hal must quickly learn to become a super hero before he becomes the last.

Green Lantern - High Tech Terror by Michael A. Steele

While on intergalactic patrol, Hal Jordan, a member of the Green Lantern Corps, receives a distress call. A nearby planet is under attack . . . by lawn mowers! All of the planet's machines have come alive. Cars, semi-trucks, even television sets, have transformed into deadly robots. Soon, Hal learns that a superpowered robot is behind the mechanical chaos . . . TEKIK, a member of the evil Sinestro Corps. To stop his mini machines, the Green Lantern must stop TEKIK first. Unfortunately, pulling the plug on this super-villain won't be so easy.

Green Lantern - The Light King Strikes! by Laurie S. Sutton

After patrolling the galaxy, Hal Jordan, a member of the Green Lantern Corps, streaks toward Earth. The neon lights of downtown LasVegas guide the super hero toward his final destination. Then suddenly, the brightest city on the planet goes dark! Touching down, Hal spots the source of the black out . . . the brilliant but evil, Dr. Light! He'll stop at nothing to absorb all the light in the universe and become the most powerful super-villain ever created. Hal must put an end to this light king's reign, or it'll be lights out for him as well.

Green Lantern - Battle of the Blue Lanterns by Michael V. Acampora

In the far reaches of space, deadly Manhunter robots attack a small planet and its people. Luckily, Hal Jordan, a member of the Green Lantern Corps is close by! The super hero stops the first wave of mechanical killers, but hundreds more quickly follow. Soon, Hal is overwhelmed, unable to hold off the assault any longer. Then suddenly, two members of the Blue Lantern Corps restore his energy. Hal is thankful for the help, but it comes with a price. They want Hal to give up his green ring and join the Blue Lanterns . . . or suffer the consequences.
I must say I love the Tim Bruce style of Hal Jordan and the rest of the GLC! I would also love to see that same style with the film's suit!

Now for the more "grown up": Amazon.com has a 208 page art book by Ozzy Inguanzo, who is the Green Lantern research and asset manager for the upcoming motion picture. According to Amazon's description, "The Art of The Green Lantern is the ultimate companion book to the movie, showcasing production ephemera including: storyboard art, character sketches, concept art, and still photos from the movie's sets. The Green Lantern will also contain observations and insights of the film by producers, art director, and various other film crew." The book will contain a foreword by Geoff Johns and has been titled "Constructing Green Lantern: From Page to Screen". There is no picture of the cover at this time but it can be pre-ordered for around twenty three dollars.

Another book being published in May is "Green Lantern and Philosophy: No Evil Shall Escape this Book", available for pre-order for around eleven dollars.

Amazon's description is as follows:
"The most recent Green Lantern series, Blackest Night, propelled GL to be the top-selling comic series for more than a year, the latest twist in seven decades of Green Lantern adventures. This book sheds light on the deep philosophical issues that emerge from the Green Lantern Corp's stories and characters, from what Plato's tale of the Ring of Gyges tells us about the Green Lantern ring and the desire for power to whether willpower is the most important strength to who is the greatest Green Lantern of all time.
◦Gives you a new perspective on Green Lantern characters, story lines, and themes
◦Shows what philosophical heavy hitters such as Aristotle, Descartes, and Kant can teach us about members of the Green Lantern Corp and their world
◦Answers your most pressing Green Lantern questions, including: What motivates Hal Jordan to be a Green Lantern? Does the Blackest Night force us to confront old male/female stereotypes? What is the basis for moral judgment in the Green Lantern Corp? Is Hal Jordan a murderer?"

I cannot wait for Green Lantern to hit the big screen this summer!
