Red Lanterns on Fringe

Geoff Johns talks about the alternate comics they produced for last night's episode of Fringe.

Last night's episode of Fringe featured a storyline where the characters went to a parallel-universe where up is down, left is right, in is out… you get the idea. Also included in the storyline was the fact that Superman died in "CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS" instead of Supergirl.

This was due to a collaboration between Geoff Johns, Wildstorm and Fringe’s series finale director, Akiva Goldsman. Here's a bit of Geoff John's interview:

Geoff: "Anyone see FRINGE last night? If you did, you saw the RED LANTERN/RED ARROW cover. And maybe the bizarre SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL RETURNS in the style of Frank Miller’s BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS. Or the infamous cover to CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS #7, but Supergirl’s holding Superman. Or the event that rocked the mid-90s, THE DEATH OF BATMAN. So where did these come from?

"An alternate Earth.

"For real.

"A month or so ago, I was fortunate enough to take on the job of Chief Creative Officer. That meant I was charged with bringing out characters out of the comic book pages and into the vast world of television, film, animation and video games that is DC Entertainment. One of the first calls I got was from the director of the Fringe season finale – writer/producer/director Akiva Goldsman. He was shooting a scene in an alternate world where things weren’t exactly like ours. Where even the smallest details were somewhat off. Including the comics."

Pretty cool, huh? if you want to read the rest of the interview and see the covers he's talking about, click on the link below!

I watched the Fringe season finale last night, and spotted the covers immediately. My jaw dropped, and I freaked. I REALLY hope they decide to do prints of these to be framed, just like in the series.

Okay I have an issue with this only because that is not how the Red Lantern Oath starts...

With blood and rage of crimson red,
Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead,
Together with our hellish hate,
We'll burn you all--That is your fate!

I'm aware it's most likely not meant to be that kind of Red Lantern but still bugs me. lol

Anna Torv is the worst part of the show. Her acting really bugs me. The show is a good show so I still watch it but I cant help but cringe when she is on screen. She looks disgusted all the time :p

@Gunsmith- Olivia hadn't used her powers the night before like the others, plus she was the strongest of them all according to Walter and Bell. That is why she was not affected as much as them.

I think John Noble is the best part of the show. He totally deserves an Emmy.

P.S. I thought for sure we would see Diane Kruger in the finale.
