Why did it have to be Superman? I wish that they'd have found "Captain America Comics" #1, instead. :( I hate Superman.

What I don't understand is the story said the house had been in the family since the 50's. How in the hell can there be a mortgage on it that would even lead to a foreclosure? Im gonna assume they refinanced during the mortgage heyday like so many others and now can't pay it back. Guesse there lucky they found the book it's better than tax payers bailing them out

If that was me, I'd s#@$ a brick. Then I'd run around... screaming my a$$ off. After all that was done, I would keep it. :)

Thats the greatest comic book of all time. Every superhero who came after him was influenced by him. The single most influential superhero of all time, and perhpas the most powerful too. I'd loove to own an original!

BMP!

The story says the house has been in their family since the 1950s and they still don't have it paid off?

Sounds like maybe they got suckered into one of Lex Luthor's real estate schemes...

what a beautiful story! Thanks for sharing this! With the non-stop barrage of bad news and the ugliness of modern life, it's nice to find an uplifting story like this. The Lord works in mysterious ways. It's also a wake-up for the rest of us. There are probably more Action #1's and other key books waiting in attics or basements to be discovered again. If only my house was old enough!

Check out the video linked to this article with the lady who saved her house baking apple cakes. Proof that the American Dream may have taken a five-on-one beatdown, but it still lives and can still happen.

@ Lee,

Funny. I was all Marvel as a kid, but there's no denying quality no matter which company produces it.

This is a great story.
