@MovieLad - So you would rather have her looking like a lesbian...Hey, whatever floats your boat man. :) Its all about personal preference & mine is that when it comes to a Hot chick Less is More, haha. The new outfit makes her look unattractive in my opinion. But please do explain why a classic is so terrible?

@MovieLad - Dude let's be real here. The only reason why a lot of guys (including myself) even pay attention to lady Heroes/Heroines is because they look sexy & can still kick ass while looking cute or beautiful. The comic book people know that skin wins, haha.

Also, Wonder Woman has always been a respected Heroine. Superman knows not to [frick] with her as well as everybody else cause her PMS is like an atomic bomb! ;)

But seriously though her new costume looks too much like black canary. And that is why her first outfit is/was so iconic. Its different, sexy, and looks like she came from an all women kingdom.

I hate the new costume. They should give her a greek battle atire similar to Xena's. This should be her costume in the books AS WELL AS on film:

Ahhh it's growing on me. I just don't like the jacket. I always liked that she was always almost naked yet so powerful.

Okay, I'm glad WW is selling out. That's for sure. I have to keep believing that they are going to return her to her original costume though. The Xena-style is the way to go. I swear I will organize a protest if they don't have her back to her old duds in 2 years MAX and definitely for the movie!

I say hope because Dan Didio said he hopes the new look sticks....this CANNOT be allowed to happen!

These covers look great and really showcase the new costume. 601 looks great.

@Betty- I didn't like it at first either, but these covers look good. Ditto on the jacket as well.

@Rock- Sorry dude, I'd rather have better characters than boobs in my comics. Death of the Sandman series is a great example of a female in comics that doesn't show much skin. She turned out to be one of the most popular characters of the series.

@Shaman- That would be my ideal movie costume.

Look, I'm one of the biggest WW fans out there and I HATE this new costume and origin. I'm far from alone. Even if this story ends up being good, why couldn't they just create a new character? There are some of us whose brains have evolved enough to see beyond "skin", to the heart of the character. Some guys are gonna see something sexual in everything they look at. That's just the way it is. It's kinda funny how they say they are covering her up and yet her boobs are still bigger than her head. And BTW George Perez and Phil Jimenez had fantastic runs on the book and they developed the supporting cast very well. Maybe DC could reward us loyal WW fans by turning the book over to George and Phil when this atrocity is finally over! Oh and the REAL Diana just saw this new costume...and she's pissed!

@TheaterLad.... You call her original costume impractical and gaudy? What the hell is practical about a comic book character in the first place? It's supposed to be fantasy! Use your imaginations a little here people! The above costume, or something similar (minus the sandals), is PERFECT for the comics and definitely for the movie! It looks like a warrior and it looks like Wonder Woman. Giving her Superman's origin and making her look like a forgettable Image Comics character is a slap in the face to those of us who have treasured this character our whole lives. Some people LOVE Superman, and Batman, and many, many people feel just as strongly towards Wonder Woman.

@MovieLad - hahahahaha, I couldn't help but laugh the whole time I was reading that. . .It's a shame that people these days are just jumping on the change bag wagon. I miss the good old days.

But anywho how is Green Lantern part of the trinity now? Plus how has she never had her due? She did have her own T.V. show. Also what other superpowers would you purpose that she should have? I think somebody is just ranting now. . .haha. Youve drifted off the topic of the costume and have failed to realize my point. The reason why she was respected in her old costume was because it showed that she was not afraid and just how bold she is/was. When being a leader individuality is key. Her costume showed that. But now she is just another face in the crowd. . .

& btw the skin wins & pms are cald jokes. Gezze dude, lightn up a bit. Is it your time of month? haha :P

@davidcub - THX for helping me prove a point :)

Her classic costume rocks. It's part of her iconography. That new costume is so boring. Why is every artist these days who redesigns a costume putting characters in leather jackets/trenchcoats? It's bad enough that we have SuperNeo on Smallville and now this travesty. I absolutely love those pics that Shaman posted above and see no reason why that costume couldn't work practically in the comics and a live action movie.

@MovieTheaterLad I agree. While the old one was always iconic, the new one is looking interesting.
CaptainFurious
CaptainFurious - 7/10/2010, 9:31 AM
agreed, it doesn't look all that iconic. obviously i suppose it takes a while for something to be precieved that way but i bet the first time the original costume was unveiled people sat up and took notice (even if all those people did happen to be a bunch of middle aged dudes).
I totally agree that it should be more roman/greek in appearance.
someone mentioned earlier that they thought her old costume was too 80's, i think the new one is way more 80's than the old one. the old one was a super hero costume the new one is hair metal 80's hollywood. Kat Von D would look good in it.

I think the new outfit makes sense. Remember she's an ambassador. Not a professional showgirl. So she can't wear the bikini costume while she's out on the streets. She must wear a proper costume when she have to face chief of police, mayor, & The UN. That way she will be respected by others and also give respect to the citizens (especially to kids).
Besides you can't sue DC for changing her costume. The own the character you know. LOL

It's not Wonder Woman anymore. At least not the one everybody has seen since the early 1940's. I agree that she needed to be modernized a little. But so does Batman and Superman as far as the comics go. It seems to me that they're just trying to make her more politically correct. Notice the fact that the basis of the "red, white, and blue" are gone. But they kept the communist "Red Star" on her headband.
Upupandaway
Upupandaway - 7/10/2010, 1:21 PM
@CBArtist- That's silly. What they're doing is as far from communism as possible and it seems to have worked for the time being. Cause a little fuss and Wonder Woman's selling like hot cakes. Also, can you imagine the wedgies in the original costume when fighting crime? The thing is that Supes and Batman don't have to change costumes because they sell. This is just repackaging a product to gain buzz, which could be more blamed on capitalism.

I don't like the new vambraces if there indestructable and go in between her ring and middle fingers then it's gonna hurt and be kinda uncomfortable every time she punches someone. The vambraces really don't need to cover that much arm(hand) if she has superhuman reflexes and reaction time. Finally, give me one good reason why Wonder Woman should wear black because I have a whole list why she shouldn't.

davidcub - 7/10/2010, 4:16 PM
@justvisiting: WW has royal robes she wears when speaking at the U.N. and other high officials.
@CBArtist: It's not her fault all these artists draw her shorts as a thong and amp up her chest!

@golden123- It's slimming. : ) She's an old lady. It's hard to fight the cellulite after all these years. I'm thinking the indestructible part starts from the wrist on. I bet we'll get a compromise type costume in the not-too-distant future when this costume stops selling.
