Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon's new Dark Horse comic series sounds like it'll be a perfect fit. Over the weekend at SDCC, the Avengers director announced that he'll be penning a 6-issue miniseries called Twist, about a character who's being likened to a "Victorian, female Batman." “It’s a Victorian thriller about a meek chambermaid who is fed to a dark horror — but instead of dying, she returns, with knowledge, power, and rage she can neither deny nor control,” he told EW.

Twist does't have a release date or an artist (the cover above is from Julian Totino Tedesco but he isn’t expected to draw the series) yet, but more details are sure to be forthcoming so keep an eye out for updates.

Whedon, you're such a douche.... I am in no way anti woman regarding anything, but I find weird that you care so much for something that has already been achieved.... What's next? Gonna try and tear down some monuments?

You'd have been better off just doing the comics and never mentioning a thing.. As it is, you just look like an idiot

Yes. Whedon is great, really talented, I give him respect and he gave us some good movies but the Quicksilver death was really annoying.

The Quicksilver death was horseshit, it actually turned me off from the MCU a little, I won't lie

I'm happy the Russo's are taking over

@Mattman Is quirkiness and sarcasm a bad thing? Judging from his previous projects, it seems to be welcomed pretty well..

@DrKinsolving his death was probably the weakest point of the film for me mainly because QS is one of my favorite mutant characters and his death really had no impact and I actually liked how he was portrayed and was looking forward to seeing him in civil war

I'm convinced that Joss Whedon is clinically depressed. Watch the panel where he announced this series...he's clearly not normal.

@TheEpicJuicebox

Exactly, same here, and his progression in the movie had me so hyped

When he's like, so, this is SHIELD? I was like yes, finally, Quicksilver in the MCU!

Then, I was like what the [frick], they better bring him back, I want to see Quicksilver and the Inhumans, and Crystal, such bullshit

Who gives a [frick] about Whedon.

Dark Horse won the comics part of SDCC by announcing Paolo Rivera as the new Hellboy & The BPRD artist. Wanted that dude to be the new Spidey artist so bad with Lemire writing Peter but Marvel [frick]ed that up.

One of my favorite artist writing one of my favorite characters.

Why all the sudden hate for Whedon?
Just one movie (which was Epic) and suddenly everyone hates all his work?
Just because some of you didn't like Age Of Ultron doesn't mean you should hate Whedon from now on, but I guess that's how people's brains work.
BTW Whedon gave us the TRUE Quicksilver,I'm bummed out about his death too but I found it gave weight to the finale and is going to further Wanda's character.
