The 104-page special will be written by a team comprising Jason Aaron, Mike Benson, Victor Gischler, Charlie Huston, Joe Kelly, Duance Swierczsynki, and Fred Van Lente. Artwork will be provided by Kyle Baker, Shawn Crystal, Sanford Greene, Rob Liefeld, Damion Scott, Chris Staggs, and Dalibor Talajic.

"If this collection of octane-infused stories by some of comics' hottest talent doesn't make you want to genuflect at the Altar of Wade, nothing will. Thrill as the Merc with a Mouth squares off against probe-happy aliens, trigger-happy mimes and one seriously unhappy fanman - and that's just half the book," read Marvel's solicitation for the book.

"Wince as Wade bares his soul [and lots more] to a shrink who's got major squirrels in his own attic. Thrill as he travels around the globe and then some to settle a childhood bet. And chill as C.S.I. investigators at a blood-splattered crime scene attempt to piece together why this particular 'unsub' needed battery cables, Crisco oil, three stacks of adult magazines and a live chicken to pull off the hit."

Created by artist Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza, Deadpool made his debut in 1991 in "New Mutants" #98.

"Deadpool" #900 is released on October 14.

why isn't Daniel Way or Paco Medina in that group of writers? I see Mike Benson and Victor Gischler are there (writers of the crappy, unfunny, one shots and Merc with a Mouth series)

Way's current run has been spectacular. I really hope they are all in this together.

Its just a joke, cuz how everyone is celebrating their 600th issue, they wanted to make fun of it so, with Deadpool's sense of humor, they said issue #900...

I mean come on... I think any Deadpool fan would have figured that out!

Too bad Ed Mcguiness is not drawing in this, cuz Ed was the artisit in Deadpool's 1st long on going series, but 3rd in total.

@ grif

its not the actual 900th issue. recently, captain america, thor, and wonderwoman (i think) have been renumbered to issue 600, because if they never would have been cancelled and restarted, thats the issue number they would be at today. its a way of tricking collectors into buying the "600th" issue by making them think its a milestone issue. as for deadpool 900, this is NOT a milestone, they made it 900 to make fun of the renumberings of other books.

deadpool might have been around for 20 years, but he didn't even have his own series until a few years ago. so when you ask 900 issues in 20 years, its actually more like 900 issues in 5 years, lol. which is obvioulsy impossible, lol. its a joke, y'know, cuz deadpool jokes a lot.

deadpool is awesome and is actually one of the most popular books out right now. marvel giving him a push really paid off. i think this is sort of to mark the idea that such a ridicules character like deadpool can be selling like the a-list guys. congrats wade!
