The scalloped eyes, the pointy beak/nose, the Ninja Tabi, the pointed red bits, the pointy Spider on the back = AWESOME.

The stupid colour black? HORRIBLE.
If this change had been made to somebody like Ultimate Peter Parker, who's lean and somewhat skinnier, then it would look great. But it makes Peter's body just look chubby, and the costume over-all look incomplete.

So I read the last pages of Amazing Spidey #700 when they leaked the other day. I hate who they've chosen The Superior Spider-Man to be, and almost everyone's been right on the money with their guesses lately. It's such a spit in the face to everything that makes Spider-Man such a good character.

Unless of course it's a red-herring. But I don't think it is. Seems like too much effort.

I would just like to say that the person who the Superior Spider-Man is, is NOT smarter than Parker. I read the spoilers.

I'm sure the variant cover art is better than the actual book.

I've read Amazing Spider-Man #700 AND Avenging Spider-Man #15.1. Trust me, it doesn't sound good.

But they pull it off well. Then again, I'm an optimist who is willing to give things like this a chance.

So this is how you end a hero's story? Evil wins, good loses, and evil is rewarded for causing hell. Only a hack would believe that is a good ending.

@CaptainObvious

Or someone who just likes the ending...?

What I meant to say is only a hack writer would think this is a great send-off. Bad guy kills hero and is rewarded with the hero's life while the friends and family of the hero don't know his true fate. I'm sorry, but that is a horrid ending, especially to a character like Peter Parker. I hope SSM flops so Marvel will erase this nonsense from continuity.
