GIANT-SIZE DAREDEVIL #1 Will Put The Man Without Fear Against Kingpin...With A Supernatural Twist!

This year, Marvel Comics is celebrating 50 years of iconic Giant-Size storytelling with new one-shots every month. Starring today's most iconic headlining heroes, this new line pays tribute to the epic "Giant-Size" comics of the 1970s by presenting pivotal status quo shifts, exciting first appearances, and dramatic developments.

In June, current Daredevil scribe Saladin Ahmed and artist Paul Davidson (X-Force) promise to deliver a key chapter in the Man Without Fear's ongoing saga in the pages of Giant-Size Daredevil #1.

Daredevil's latest run has seen Matt Murdock devote himself to two different callings. When he’s not suited up as the Man Without Fear, Matt is serving as Hell's Kitchen's newest priest.

At the centre of this new status quo is a terrifying mystery as demonic entities tied to Daredevil's very soul begin to target his loved ones. With a mysterious connection to the seven deadly sins, these vengeful supernatural forces will now seek to inhabit Daredevil's ultimate enemy...Wilson Fisk, a.k.a The Kingpin!

"I've always loved villain POV stories, and Wilson Fisk has the ultimate street-level villain POV," Ahmed said in a brief statement about the comic. "We went really big and bloody with this, bringing Kingpin back in a huge way, and I can't wait for fans to check it out."

The Kingpin vanished after the events of Devil's Reign, but he's finally returned to New York and, unsurprisingly, looks set to reunite with his longtime foe for yet another battle.

The timing makes sense because Marvel Studios has also put the spotlight on Fisk in recent months; he appeared in Echo earlier this year after making his official MCU debut in Hawkeye and will next appear in Daredevil: Born Again. Vincent D'Onofrio is also expected to reprise the role in Spider-Man 4

Like all of this year's "Giant-Size" instalments, Giant-Size Daredevil #1 will boast a cover by superstar artist Bryan Hitch and reprint a classic adventure: Frank Miller's Daredevil #170, a.k.a. "The Kingpin Must Die!"

This run has been pretty good so far. Matt becoming priest feels like a natural progression for him.

“The Kingpin vanished after the events of Devil's Reign, but he's finally returned to New York”

Not true at all. He’s been back for like a year, he’s been a massive part of the X-Mens war on Orchis. He’s been the new Black King of the Hellfire Club for a hot minute. Never understand why people who don’t read comics just pull random stuff out their ass
