LOKI Returns In A New Marvel Comics Series Right In Time For Disney+ Series' Summer Premiere

Everyone's favourite God of Mischief is returning in his own comic book series later this year, right in time for Loki season 2's launch on Disney+! Find out what to expect from this title after the jump.

This June, Loki will once again unleash his unique brand of mayhem when he takes centre stage in a brand-new comic book series. Arriving right in time for Loki season 2 on Disney+ (there's that corporate synergy we all know and love), this title will obviously focus on the Marvel Universe's God of Mischief, though Alligator Loki is on the teaser art!

Loki will be a four-issue limited series written by Dan Watters (Arkham City) in his exciting Marvel Comics debut, with art by acclaimed artist Germán Peralta (Black Panther).

This exciting new chapter for the God of Stories will introduce a collection of ancient Norse weapons Loki crafted in his mischievous past. When they’re scattered throughout the realms, including Nidavellir, Kree space, and Earth, Loki must track them down to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.

Throughout this twisting journey, readers will see Loki go head-to-head with iconic Marvel villains, provoke Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and be forced to confront the dark truth that lies at his centre.

"It’s hard to say what a delight it is to be making my Marvel debut, even more so to be doing it with the God of Stories himself- taking him all the way around the Marvel Universe and back again," Watters says. "I can’t wait for all to see the beauty German’s art is breathing into this tale we have to tell you, full of magic, danger – and if Loki can’t help himself (he can’t) – quite a smidge of mischief."

Peralta adds, "Loki is one of the most interesting characters, not only in comics, but also in mythology, and his ambiguity in all aspects of his life makes him a very interesting character for an artist. I always say that I really enjoy drawing villains, but Loki has everything. It was ‘love at first sight’ when I read the script. Dan is amazing, and I'm sure he's having a lot of fun with it too."

"I can't wait to draw Loki’s expressions, since there are always double intentions with him, and it's going to be very entertaining to play with that, as well as everything related to his universe. Having the opportunity to draw Loki is undoubtedly a beautiful way to start the year. It's going to be a road full of challenges, but I'm sure it's going to be a great journey."

You can check out Rod Reis' teaser for the series below, and we're sure more details about Loki will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The same could be said for the anti-hero's Disney+ series, though we don't anticipate getting a trailer for that until after Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is released in theaters. Chances are Marvel Studios will promote Secret Invasion before then as well (it's been rumoured to debut in March and May recently).

President Loki is teased as well but I don't know who the other female iteration of him is.

I imagine this is the same corporate synergy that James Gunn wants to have at DC. TBH not all should be imitated.

Off-topic @KingPatel @JoshWilding:

Yesterday an exclusive clip was released from the upcoming animated Legion of Super-Heroes film.

Another one was released today as well.

Also as The Flash has just wrapped their 9th episode (that featured Oliver, Diggle and Kid Flash) the cast now are confirming that bus meta Becky Sharpe from S4 will return.

Meanwhile James Gunn half-jokes that maybe the Guardians cast could appear in the DC movies he's preparing.

And there's a rumor that Isabelle Fuhrman ("Orphan") could join the Agatha: Coven of Chaos TV show.
