Marvel's Contest of Champions: The "Injustice" of Marvel?

We all know this was going to happen soon, but we didn't know it'd be this soon! Looks like because of INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US' critical success not just for consoles, but also for mobiles, it gave MARVEL an idea to make their own swipe-to-fight mobile game...

During NYCC, Marvel unveiled their "Injustice", Marvel: Contest of Champions for the mobile. Currently, it's only available in Sweden (with Sweden players leaking some of its gameplay), but will go worldwide during December. You can watch its cinemattic trailer below to catch a glimpse of what's going on.


If you also didn't know, Contest of Champions was a story arc in the comics, featuring The Grandmaster trying to ressurect The Collector by battling Death using some of Marvel's heroes to defeat her team (also consisting of Marvel heroes). In the game though, you play Gamora, Iron Man, Star-Lord, Black Bolt, Hulk, the Winter Soldier, and (currently) 17 other characters from the comics (Thanos, Kang, and The Collector not included).

So, Marvel makes a mobile game based on a years old storyline, and that means it's copying DC? A mobile game to top it off? And I guess the 1995 game Marvel Super Heroes doesn't count? Or the sequel? Riiiiiiight. How about you go even deeper and say Marvel copied DC by making movies based on their comic characters, lol? Hey Marvel vs Capcom let Marvel characters fight each other! Coincidence? I think Marvel copied DC through the magic of time travel!

This is not meant to be perceived as an INJUSTICE. It's more of a casual fighting game for tablets and phones.
