SCARLET WITCH: Marvel To End Current Comic Series Before 2024 Relaunch; First Look At Final Issue Revealed

Marvel Comics has announced plans to end the current Scarlet Witch series with issue #10, though that won't be where Wanda Maximoff's story ends! Find more details on that, and a sneak peek, right here...

Marvel Comics has announced that, following November's Scarlet Witch #10, Steve Orlando's current ongoing Scarlet Witch series will evolve in a fascinating way in January before ultimately returning later in 2024.

In just a few weeks, though, we'll discover Marvel's exciting plans for the iconic Wanda Maximoff; in the meantime, her coven of fans can get a first look at the epic "season finale" of her current era in this new sneak peek at what will now be the title's final issue.

Since launching earlier this year, Orlando, Sara Pichelli and Lorenzo Tammetta's Scarlet Witch have enchanted readers with dazzling displays of Wanda's powers, a captivating new status quo, and spellbinding additions to Wanda's growing rogues gallery.

With jaw-dropping covers from Russell Dauterman, the series has remained a Marvel must-read month after month, and the Last Door isn’t closing yet! Bold new developments are in store but first, we'll bear witness to the Scarlet Witch's climactic duel with her new archenemy, Hexfinder, in issue #10. The vicious witch hunter has been plaguing Wanda since the beginning, and Wanda will hold nothing back as they finally meet on the battlefield.

"When chaos magic meets alchemical might, it's all Wanda can do to keep her town - and her friends - from getting caught in the crossfire," reads the solicitation text. "Hexfinder has sworn vengeance on all witches and won't stop until Wanda is a trophy on her wall. Wanda is one of the most powerful forces in the Marvel Universe - but can she stand against someone who's trained her whole life to eradicate magic?"

Despite a controversial villainous turn in last May's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Scarlet Witch remains an incredibly popular character among MCU and comic book fans so we're not exactly surprised her series is only going on a short hiatus.

Orlando says, "Scarlet Witch has been the gig of a lifetime--one that's challenged me, surprised me, and brought me together with some of the greatest collaborators I've ever been lucky enough to work with."

"And we're far from done - I can't wait for folks to see what we've been conjuring up next, something that celebrates a massive milestone for Wanda and her family, and explodes this current season up into something gonzo, blockbuster, and bursting with power. Wanda will return stronger, bolder, and more powerful than ever - and not alone!"

You can see all four Scarlet Witch #10 covers below along with never-before-seen artwork by Sara Pichelli. Marvel Comics has promised a "special announcement" about what comes next, so we'll keep you updated as we learn more.

This is one of the main reasons why I hate modern comics. Why relaunch the series? It's obviously doing well because they would just cancel it if not. But they are planning a relaunch before it's even cancelled.

Why????

Just keep the series going. There's no reason for this crap. They just want a new #1 issue. That's literally the only reason. But the funny thing is they flood the market with #1's so now it no longer means anything to be issue #1.

@CorndogBurglar - Agree 100 percent.

Marvel definitely has an ADHD problem and they "Relaunch" a good chunk of thier books on a yearly basis.

A new volume with a new Number 1 issue is a pure marketing ploy to make it seem fresh, but it's totally annoying.

@CorndogBurglar - I've stopped reading modern shit, I will buy the odd graphic novel or trade paperback but I'm done with floppy.

I read omnibus or actually buy silver, bronze or copper age comics.

@marvel72 - Yep. I've been buying the Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, and Wolverine hard cover Omnibuses. And I'm collecting key issues to slab them. But that's about it. Aside from these gimmicks of annual events and relaunches, I'm just not happy with what the industry has become. And that goes for how they are handling characters and stories.

They should have a inception like reboot event where the heros need to stop the constant rebooting.
