Timeless, the special year-ending one-shot that sets the stage for upcoming stories in the Marvel Universe, returns for its third year this December. Joined by acclaimed artist Juann Cabal, writing team Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing will be taking over writing duties from Jed MacKay for what sounds like an epic tale.
It's set to reveal a devastating future born from the choices our heroes make today, with this grim endpoint of the Marvel Universe home to a single remaining hero, Power Man, and an ancient evil who's ascended to ultimate power, Immortal Moon Knight.
In a world that’s been doomed by the hubris of its heroes, only one battle remains. Fans will witness the final struggle of Earth’s only surviving superhero as he sets out to end the rule of a cruel god-like being that’s been shaped by some of the most powerful forces in the Marvel Universe.
Like previous instalments of Timeless, this ambitious saga will also contain shocking glimpses into the next year of Marvel storytelling including the very events that kick off the inevitable chain of events that led to the end of the Age of Heroes.
Today, you can get a glimpse of their epic final showdown in a new Timeless #1 variant cover by best-selling cover artist InHyuk Lee.

We're intrigued to see where this story is heading, and it's always fun to see Luke Cage put front and centre in stories as big as this one. Power Man is already incredibly powerful, of course, but when you also give him the abilities of those other heroes, he may prove to be the most formidable character to ever grace the page.
