Like i said, IMO, he's got more chances of being Sups again than Bale has of putting that cowl back on. No Nolan, no Bale. Contract or no contract. At the very least Routh shows enthusiasm for the role. Maybe give him a director that will let Routh act as his own Superman instead of imitating Reeve??? Just a thought.

I would like Routh back in it but if they chose someone else as it he was good I woulndn't mind. I loved Batman begins and TDK but I think if DC were to do what Marvel have been trying to do then they should wait for a few years and reboot Bats so they can include him in Justice League!

Great point Answer!

Shaman: exactly! Singer spent so much time forcing Routh to imitate Reeves that he didnt get chance to show what a talented actor he is! His appearence in Zack and Miri showed he can do more than just pretend to be an actor from films that are now 20+ years old. Get rid of Singer and its already guaranteed that the next Superman film will be better!

TheAnswer: they shouldnt reboot Batman!! Theres no reason that the Nolan version of Batman cant exist in a larger DC universe - out of all the superhero franchises that need a reboot (Fantastic Four, Daredevil, X-Men etc) Batman is definitely not one of them!!
Supermike
Supermike - 7/23/2009, 4:30 PM
Well just as long as they don't do what Nolan and Marvel are doing and Rape the character to the point where the whole fanbase just turn their back on it
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 7/23/2009, 4:36 PM
Ugh...what the hell are you on here for Superdouche? By "whole fanbase" do you mean YOU? because The Dark Knight and Marvel's most recent movies have all been really popular! You're just an immature little asshole Supermike - go [frick] off and watch your CartoonNetwork crap.

JOSH @ SINGER should go back to the X-Franchise and do WOLVERINE 2!!!

After all, he can only make it better!!! ; D

BRANDON ROUTH IS SUPERMAN!!!

Supermike @ Your an A$$HOLE!!!

Yeah Supermike I kinda' remember Iron Man and the Dark Knight being not only awesome, but the biggest movies of last year.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 7/23/2009, 5:01 PM
LEE: Singer should stay away from comic book movies altogether - Valkryie was good! If Singer was directing Wolverine 2 we'd probably end up with some touchy feely 'bromantic' movie about Sabertooth and Wolverine, lol!
LEEE777
LEEE777 - 7/23/2009, 5:01 PM
Though saying that, SINGER has no where near ruined SUPERMAN as what the writers have done with SMALLVILLE!

I hope an pray lol, it will be half good this year!

yeah, you got a point about WOLVERINE 2 JOSH lol!

LEE: Smallville's theme song, "Somebody Save Me" fits in with the show even better this year - Smallville needs to be saved before it get any worse than it already is, lol! however after hearing that its going to feature Zod before he became General Zod I can see another Davis Bloome/Doomsday thing with Clark trying to make Zod turn out good or something - YAWN!!! Ive got to the point now that im so sick of the show i probably wont even bother watching Season 8! [frick] Smallville!

Seriously, I'm not trying to put down Routh but his acting abilities are very sub par. Being a big fan of Superman my whole life I couldn't be more disappointed in watching him as Superman, it was painful to watch. I purposely went to the same exact theater that I saw STM in 1978 and left the place feeling like the guy is no Superman.
I really don't think it's up for debate if the guy's a good actor or not because he gives the same uncomfortable performance in 99% of his lines. People actually say it was because he had next to no lines in SR???? Having less lines should work in any actors favor, i really don't think it makes them automatically come off as wooden or uncomfortable. The proof is really in every acting role the man has had.
I'm sorry but Superman in what film can do these days with a big budget is no place for an actor with the acting ability Routh has. This character deserves better than that.

With Routh I think he deserves another chance. You cant really gauge his acting ability on Superman Returns and I havent seen him in much else. I cant label him as a good or bad actor. I do like his additude towards returning for a sequel. You'd think after Superman Returns as an actor he would separate himself as far as he could from the role, however he doesnt. There is a sort of dedication to that. Kudos to Routh!

I'm glad he is willing to come back i liked him as super man ... All they have to do is have Mongul come and kill his kid and then superman can woop some ass ... and they can lead into Braniac and then Darkseid with the Justice League when he unleashes the White Martians and then Martian Manhunter appers... Dude i should write there cynopsis for this stuff... LOL
Shaman
Shaman - 7/23/2009, 5:52 PM
longbowhunter- Yeah, haven't seen that much dedication since Jackman. Bale sure as hell doesn't have it.

Thegreek- They're never gonna kill the kids, he just won't exist in the next one. Which is fine with me.
longbowhunter
longbowhunter - 7/23/2009, 5:57 PM
I like what I hear from the Greek! White martians would be cool to see.
thegreek
thegreek - 7/23/2009, 6:03 PM
@ Shaman- You would have to admit though that would def give a reason for action ... Plus it is a possibility because they might want to keep some continuity from the previous film

@ Longbow- thanks for liking my idea.. I didn't think it would be to bad .. But ofcourse that would be the lead up to a hopeful Justice League ... Plus with them we get a back story on Martian Manhunter too.

Josh I'm just basing the thought of my reboot on Nolan saying his universe is based on real life and not the comic book world. If someone else took over and they linked it well then a reboot is not needed! :)

I think warner bros suck. These f**ks have the balls to say returns didn't meet the expected gross. Anyone with sense knows that warner spent millions on paying Nick Cage for the role he never got. They spent millions on scripts, and directors, and plans that went nowhere. All of that money was equated with superman returns. I find it laughable that warner passed not only the buck, but the blame. If not for the wasted money spent on nonsense, superman returns would have turned a great profit for the company. Brandon Routh or nothing warner, get your shit together already

Wow he's just so genuine and modest like Christopher Reeve was. He is this generations Superman. If they don't have him in it then they should just CGI Christopher Reeve into the next film instead of tryin to find another actor to do the role because there isn't anyone else. Except for Dean Cain but I don't think he will do it.

I'd love to see him back to the role, as long as he puts some more muscle on and gets rid of that pencil neck. He's got a great frame, but Supes with a skinny neck is like Wolverine with no mutton chops - it doesnt work! I look forward to more from Routh, tho - he seems like a genuine dude.

Routh was fine, it was ultimately the script that blew. Superkid? Who wants to watch that story arc? Routh would be fine as long as the brat gets murdered within the first five minutes.

Tenaciousbt, it sure is nice to know that there is another person out there that sees Routh as the hack that he is! I think the fanboys are so starved for an adequate Superman movie, the just accept subpar standards from not knowing any better.

Well, this whole reboot/sequel debacle will hopefully be resolved when Nolan either signs on for Bats 3, or doesn't, as WB has said that everything basically hangs on wether Nolan signs or not. They said that once Nolan signs on for Bats, then the release dates for Supes and other projects will follow.
