All available passes have been purchased and hotel rooms are all booked up; the final countdown has started...

Since it's debut in 1970, Comic Con has grown tremendously in popularity each year. This year's convention is predicted to be the largest San Diego has seen yet, with over 125,000 people expected to attend the four day event. This exponential growth is causing the convention chairmen to seriously consider moving the fanboy (and girl) extravaganza to a city which can accommodate the crowd.

As of yesterday, every four day, three day, two day and single day pass has been sold. On March 18th of this year, Comic Con began using a new scheduling system for hotel reservations in an effort to facilitate bookings. It didn't work as easily as expected, and has lead to many frustrated attendees not receiving the rooms they requested. As of today, all Comic Con approved hotels withing a 7 mile radius are booked solid.

The official list of special guests at this year's Con include Neal Adams, Jason Spyda Adams, Joel Adams, Josh Adams, Sergio Aragonés, Peter Bagge, Brian Michael Bendis, Chris Claremont, Dave Dorman, Matt Fraction, Charlaine Harris, Tanya Huff, Jim Lee, Stan Lee, Paul Levitz and J. Michael Straczynski. Though the costume contest is still one of the most anticipated events, the infamous Hall H and Ballroom 20 will most likely have the longest lines to get into.

With Marvel's Thor and The First Avenger: Captain America currently in production, and DC's Green Lantern moving along swiftly, fans can be sure to see a plethora of long awaited details to be revealed.

San Diego isn't the cheapest city to visit. I will check with a couple of my contacts the end of the year. Looking forward to seeing Tea and others!
