Day 2-

Day 2 of WWSTL went exactly as I expected. Scratch that. It was BETTER than I expected. It was certainly due, in part, to the rather anti-climactic start to comic-con the previous day and me hoping that Saturday would be better. What really made the day for me though, was the diversity in the outfits. As I said in the previous review, there were so many different outfits, characters, icons that made the event feel fresh from start to finish. Unfortunately, I missed out on many of the panels and activities due to an unexpected family emergency.

One big difference this year was the fans’ interest in the various artist and product booths and the wide range of products sold at each one. Most will just look, nod and smile while waiting to meet the celebrity guests but that was not the case this year. Some of the more popular ones included Moonglow Jewelry and their lovely moon inspired creations, Extreme Fliers MicroDrone 2.0, the Wildlife Command Center and their many live animals, the caricatures booth and work from artist Michael Golden and authors William F.F. Wood and Timothy Koch. “Epic Ink” Star Chris 51 and his tattoo crew were also present and were doing tattoos live on site. Their schedule was completely booked and fans got some ink done that will continue to remind them of this epic event for years to come.

While the concerns over the lack of “A” list stars continued to skip across the lips of Wizard World attendees, this did not stop them from lining up and geeking out over meeting the celebrity guests that were present. Tara Reid was certainly of interest to many, WWE Superstars Seth Rollins and Paige of course got plenty of attention, Phil LaMarr was greeted by many “Futurama” and “Justice League” fans and Michael Rooker and Jason David Frank continued to leave fans with the biggest smiles on their faces. However, this years band of who’s who celebs that managed to keep lengthy lines all weekend included mega-star and musician Christian Kane and superhero television stars Rick Cosnett from The Flash, Gotham’s Robin Lord Taylor and Agent Carter herself, Hayley Atwell.
Day 2 of WWSTLCC was, as Bill and Ted would put it, “most excellent!” It certainly helped to add fuel to what seemed to be a pretty low flame on Friday. One more day left to go.

Last year was really fun though. Got to meet the cast of Firefly and Karen Gillan!
