The DC Cinematic Universe (DCCU) is a collection of films and television shows that are based on characters and stories from DC Comics. The franchise officially started with the release of Man of Steel in 2013 and has since grown to include several films, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam!, Birds of Prey, and The Suicide Squad.

The overarching theme of the DCCU is to bring a more grounded and realistic approach to its characters and their stories, while still capturing the larger-than-life spirit that has made DC Comics so beloved for generations. This is reflected in the film's darker, grittier tones, as well as the focus on exploring the complexities of its heroes and villains.

One of the franchise's key characters is Superman, who is portrayed as a powerful alien with incredible abilities who must balance his own sense of duty with his desire to protect humanity. Batman, meanwhile, is depicted as a brooding, tactical genius who uses his wealth and resources to wage a never-ending war on crime.

Wonder Woman, the first female-led superhero film in the DCCU, is a critical and commercial success and showcases the Amazonian princess's strength, courage, and determination. Aquaman, on the other hand, explores the underwater world of Atlantis, showcasing the hero's bravery and leadership skills as he tries to prevent a war between the surface world and the underwater kingdom.

The Justice League brings together a team of the world's greatest heroes, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg, to fight against a common threat. Despite some critical reception, it remains a fan-favorite and a staple of the DCCU.

The transition film we will see, in 0 JGE, is the upcoming The Flash film based on Flashpoint. A storyline in the DC Comics universe that centers around The Flash (Barry Allen). In this alternate reality, Barry goes back in time to save his mother's life, resulting in a chain of events that completely alters the timeline. The Flash finds himself in a new world where the characters he knows and loves have been drastically changed, and he must find a way to restore the original timeline and fix the damage he has caused. Along the way, he encounters new versions of familiar characters, including a more violent and ruthless Batman, and an alternate-reality version of Wonder Woman and Aquaman who are at war. The Flashpoint storyline is known for its dramatic impact on the DC Comics universe and for its lasting effects on the characters and the world.

What part of this new JGE are you looking forward to? Which part(s) are you going to miss? Let us hear it down in the comments!

I didn’t totally hate it, but Justice League as a fan favorite? Not in any multiverse.
