DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Rumor May Reveal How Long Hugh Jackman Will Wear The Mask For

Logan fans were delighted to hear that Hugh Jackman would finally don Logan's comic-accurate mask in Deadpool and Wolverine, but how long will he actually wear it for?

X-Men fans have been clamouring to see Wolverine in his distinctive costume for many years, but the closest Hugh Jackman ever came to suiting-up in Logan's comic book duds was taking a quick glimpse at the outfit in a deleted scene from James Mangold's The Wolverine.

Jackman will finally don the yellow and blue suit in next month's Deadpool and Wolverine, and while we haven't actually seen a live-action shot of the Aussie actor in the mask, he is expected to wear it at some point in the movie.

There's been speculation that we may only see Logan with the cowl on for a single scene (possibly even as a gag to troll fans), but it sounds like he will appear in the full costume for a little longer than that!

Insider Daniel Richtman has heard that we will see Wolvie in the mask for 10 minutes.

If this proves to be accurate, some fans are sure to be disappointed, but it probably shouldn't come as a major surprise after the previously-released trailers, and ten minutes isn't too bad... right?

We also have a new international Beauty and the Beast-inspired poster featuring Logan and the Merc With a Mouth cutting a rug.

The MPAA recently gave the movie an official R-rating for: "Strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore, and sexual references."

“Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date - Deadpool & Wolverine," reads the new synopsis. "A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier... reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to - F*ck. Synopses are so f*cking stupid.”

In addition to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the title roles, Deadpool and Wolverine will see Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), who will play a TV agent and Charles Xavier's evil counterpart, Cassandra Nova.

Shawn Levy directs Deadpool and Wolverine from a script by Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.

The movie is set to open in U.S. & Canadian theaters on July 26, and will be available in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD and premium screens everywhere.

If true , I’m cool with that since I thought him wearing the mask would be shorter then that (hopefully it’s for an action sequence atleast).

It’s gonna be crazy to see Jackman in the cowl & suit after all these years , looking forward to it!!.

@TheVisionary25 - I completely agree. 10 is more than I was expecting so I'd be happy with it

@TheVisionary25 - I can see it having him reject it the second he if given it to wear at the start...

...only for him to then have it on for the final fight cos it had tech inside to protect him from psychic influence...

...and I'm fine with that.

Probably the last 10 minutes of the final battle.

@marvel72 - Maybe it’ll have the same tech that Magnetos helmet does and it’ll prevent Casandra Nova from controlling his mind.

@marvel72 - He probably doesn't want to wear it and DP convinces him in the end.

@marvel72 - 10 minutes is a little disappointing but it’s better than I was expecting. My guess is yellow suit is only featured for less than 50% of the runtime anyway.

@mountainman - Yeah I said this a few articles ago. If they gota go up against nova he's going to need some protection.

@UniqNo - Yup. The trailer shows her puppeteering him. They’ve mentioned he “let down his world” so it’s possible she did something similar on his world to lead to that. There is no precedent for this version of Wolverine to wear one so they need a story reason besides it looks cool. Seems like a logical enough one.

@mountainman - Yeah, and I'm guessing the blue and yellow is the uniform for the x men. Not that wolverine needs a suit with the healing factor.b

@UniqNo - I really hope they claim that the Fox movies were in multiple universes that could explain the continuity issues that are too many to list here. No way are the IG trilogy and the First Class movies supposed to be in the same world.

mountainman - 6/12/2024, 3:21 PM
@McMurdo - Thanks! It being Deadpool, it could be easily explained through some throwaway line of dialog, but I prefer a story reason if it makes sense.

And 10 minutes isn’t so bad to me, as long as he keeps it for any future appearances Hugh stars in. It’s the old trope of the Superhero not getting their costume until the end of their first movie.

@marvel72 - As if he's on screen for 10 straight minutes of the final battle, never mind that this is first and foremost a Deadpool movie (& Friend)...

@mountainman - Well they do and they don't. DoFP kind of made sure of that.
mountainman
mountainman - 6/12/2024, 3:33 PM
@UniqNo - Yeah DOFP is the one movie that seems to tie them, but technically nothing in that movie references the OG 3 movies besides the actors. Characters that died in the last stand are in that end scene.
mountainman
mountainman - 6/12/2024, 3:37 PM
@UniqNo - Mystique, Bolivar Trask, Angel, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Moira McTaggart and more are all continuity errors. And are we to believe that Charles and Magneto go from how they look in Dark Phoenix to how they look in X-Men in roughly 10 years?
UniqNo
UniqNo - 6/12/2024, 3:41 PM
@mountainman - I dunno I think when Logan wakes up in the end it does tie back when he see Scott and Jean alive knowing they died in X3. Also the whole aesthetic of the mansion especially when you watch the Rogue cut.

At least they kind of reset after the end though, but then they went on to ruin it even more. For what it's worth though I still think Dark Pheonix was better than Apocalypse.
UniqNo
UniqNo - 6/12/2024, 3:44 PM
@mountainman - Yeah they reset the time line after DoFP so they basically wiped out X3 and Origins and allowed for all the other stuff so thdy didn't have to hold to continuity after it.

I think they tied themselves in a box though having each movie happen in a new decade though...Fassbenver looked the same in the 1st when he was in his 20s to the last when he was in his 50s lol.

@UniqNo - Im a bigger fan of the Fox Men movies than some around here. They aren’t comic accurate for the most part, but I was such a major X-Men fan when they came out and we didn’t have as high of standards for CBMs back then.

Doing a rewatch with the wife leading up to D&W. I feel like each movie has some things I appreciate and other things that bother me.

But dang will it be nice if we get a better life action interpretation than we have in the past. I do hope to get the OG cast redemption in this movie (or another upcoming one). Give us that OG cast in comic accurate costumes like Wolverines and make them bad asses! To me Cyclops, Storm (even though she got a little redemption in the DOFP opening), and Rogue are the ones most deserving of a glow up.

@mountainman - One can only dream...

Having them show up in this movie I feel maybe a disservice, I'm already slightly worried about Wolvie being a bit of a parody due to the tone of a Deadpool movie as they're in his flick rather than him in theirs... but it might be the only shot we get.

It would awsome though if we get something akin to the og team passing the baton onto the new one that eventually come in secret wars or somthing.

We know that Beast is out there too, i trust the rumours about Tatum showing up as gambit and we've seen Pyro and Mane's Sabertooth, so we for sure will get some of the OG's. I think Stewart was recently snapped on set so we may get something like a mash up of the animated series and the fox movies to please the fans but will likely be a flash in the pan...

Looking forward to it. I'm trying to hard to stay away from all the articles to keep the movie experience fresh, but dammit I'm weak.

@UniqNo - They’ve said it’s important to the multiverse saga. What a better way to display that then an incursion destroying that world and some refugees get out to help with the larger multiverse war?

10 min is not little, especially if dosed throughout the film. Remember Anthony Hopkins has 16 minutes of screen time in Silence of the Lambs. Spider-man has 8 minutes on Civil War. It's just about dosing.

10 minutes is a long time if you break down movie scenes. Thor only has 13 minutes of screen time in Avengers Age of Ultron. Rocket only had 8 minutes of screen time in Avengers Endgame.

I really hope the mask was already part of his uniform before and not a last minute improvement to fight Cassandra.
But I guess now I'm being too hard on this.
