Many thanks to deviantART user CAMW1N for this very cool take on Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. The Hobbit star hasn't officially been announced as playing the Marvel character as of yet, but he is in talks and believed to be close to signing on the dotted line sooner rather than later. Of course, we thought the same thing about Joaquin Phoenix, so we'll have to wait and see!

If he is indeed Dr. Strange then they need a great actor to go against Cumberbatch! And I never say stuff like this since its fan casting, but Mads would be the only actor worthy to go head to head with such a commanding presence as Cumberbatch!

Ex-[frick]ing-actly. Give an actor black, wavy hair, a goatee, some bitchin' threads and you got Doctor Strange. The argument that Benedict Cumberbatch somehow doesn't match a drawing's exact facial features (facial features which vary depending on which artist is drawing the character) is more than absurd.

I'm thrilled that it's looking likely that Cumberbatch is Dr Strange. He's a great fit for the role and a very exciting actor. If you'd seen his Creature in Frankenstein you'll know just how edgy and exciting he is. I love all the art work of Cumberbatch as Strange. The one I posted above by Rahzzah is my favourite.

Some great artwork, guys! If you all ever get the chance to check out the play Frankenstein with Cumberbatch as the monster, you'll see why he's such a brilliant actor. He's made for this role, IMO.
